I think you’re confusing manga with hentai which, incidentally, doesn’t literally mean “perverted”.

Anyway, they’re hot for the same reason why Laura Croft is hot: drawing a hot character is about as hard as drawing a non-hot character, so given the choice, why not go with the more aesthetically appealing one?
