But that’s my point kinda; there isn’t a ‘slight unbalance’. It’s a bit more unblanced than that. I’m not trying to troll you. I’m being seriously honest.

Maybe you guys are debating different things. Honestly ship v ship balance is pretty good (except craw which needs a SMALL damage nerf).

Ship v. structure balance however there is no way you can think is balanced. However, there is an easy way to adjust this, which is to give some ships a penalty on building damage. They already did it to Undu’s space rip a few months ago, so it should be relatively easy to implement.

For the story line, just say the capital ships have been upgraded with some special long-range armor (vs. undu, ant, and a little bit circe – not as effective vs magic) + max & gruba’s cannons are defective vs the new plating but they are too cheap to fix it.

Or the structures are equip with Anti-ballistic weapons (since those high dps from said ships ARE ballistic in nature… i.e. bullets, and most know that ballistic weapons do not deal a whole load of damage to structures)

Uh darth, the ballistic weapons barely do any damage too buildings, and there aren’t that many ballistic anyway (dread and jabber primarily). It is the energy weapons that cause the most damage (ants, clank, undu). The energy might be shaped into a bullet but ballistic weapons are actually fast moving objects with mass. Energy like ant’s bullets don’t have mass so it isn’t a ballistic.

Dreadnaught has no ballistic weapons but the mines, but it is a ballistic weapon itself.
Also, the ships with ballistic weapons are never the ones that look it.

I was referring to real life… who uses a rifle to take out a house? That’s kind of my point that I was pointing out. Let’s just assume that Clank/ANT/Undu’s bullet-like attacks are ballistic, for better reference.

BunBun, dread has no ballistic weapons? what about the BFG, or the minigun? Or the nuke for that matter? As long as a gun shorts something with mass it is a ballistic round. Aka everything the dread has is ballistic.

Those have no mass and do not push players or drones around. Not even the explosions have force.

@TAO You arent on the leaderboard because you play Circe most of the times. After reset Circe cant make the difference in a match anymore. Then you play Venture ( i think or? ). Venture is only good with a good Team AND they have to stay with you to make it good.
So again a ship that cant make a difference in a match.

About Hirudo:

I would like to see Klackerers Medals he owned with Hirudo. Im sure i got more. Im VERY good in Hirudo, even when i play it just 5 times a week. And if i want to be awesome with it again, give me 10 matches in a row and you will see me playing it insane again.

@Klackerer

You said Craw is a bit unbalanced. You said that a noob cant do shit with it.
I got killed 3 times yesterday in Hirudo from insane bad Craw Player. 60 % Energy left on my side. Shield used for an Enemy before. On the way back to our base from Enemy Emitter. Craw comes, dropped his Kamehas, and i died in 2 seconds without ANY chance to prevent it, killing him, draining from drones or whatever.
3 times the same shit.
Later with level 3 shield i farmed him over and over and over again. Because his aim with First gun was insane bad.
About the other “balanced” ships.
Clank is insane OP. Just because you cant kill / defend it with 80 % of all ships we got here. And some more reasons but im to lazy to write them all.
Turbo Hawk is OP in my eyes now, too. I got it yet why i say its OP. And i will show you guys later. I will play it for longer time now that more Players recognize it.

Undu for example. It is OP, and i think its very OP. Why? Because even a very bad Player can destroy structures with it easily without getting killed. And as long as PVE = Win Undu is OP because of one of this Points.

And what you said about balancing.
It is very easy to balance all ships.
The Devs are just to stupid to do it. They need 10 balancing fixes for 1 fucking ship to get it even to others.
While 100 Players are telling them what has to be done

Masa of the hirudo medals I have every thing except: 50 Shades of Drone, Droney See, Droney Die, The Drone Percent and Legend. I could get 50 Shades of Drone if I really wanted to in a match also. Of course it would probably mean losing but I could.
And I said Craw was the only one that is clearly OP, the others you just need a strategy to win. I didn’t say that Craw wasn’t OP I said it is the only one that is still OP. Clank: put an expert clank against an expert of every single type of ship and I would bet that almost every one would be able to kill it (SS, Circe, and Torpaz are the possible exceptions. Masa you forget that every single one of those 100 players have a different opinion of what needs to be changed, and if you change one thing a third of them are going to protest because they think that thing didn’t need to be changed. Also for Undu: except for Ant maybe it is the most newbie friendly ship. It is meant to be easy to master aka a very bad player might be a very good player in undu. They still have to work that skill, but it is very easy to get that skill.

Well yeah, that’s mostly true… Circe can’t be super-critical anymore… which imho, is how all ships should be. No ship should be so critical that it ‘always makes the difference’. I used to play Venture, yeah… haven’t been doing it much lately. I really like escapability (along with durability), and that’s Circe’s forte.

Why don’t you play against him and see? Medals are nice and all, but are kinda dependent on your allies and enemies. Then again, so is a match, but it can be better illustrated that way.

I’ll agree with Craw and Clank being a bit OP (versus players and structures respectively). Turbo is a bit more iffy (it can deal as much damage as Craw, but it has some limitations while doing the heavy damage), but I can sort of see why it might be worrisome.

Undu for example. It is OP, and i think its very OP. Why? Because even a very bad Player can destroy structures with it easily without getting killed. And as long as PVE = Win Undu is OP because of one of this Points.

Undu isn’t that OP, nah. Actually, what could really solve it is nerfing the range of the main gun and having it increase with upgrade points like ant’s does. Undu’s main skill in terms of turret killing is early in the game, and so, that I think wouldn’t be too hard to fix.

klack, an expert clank doesn’t go and try to solo ships most of the time. It targets buildings, and nabs low health players. The question is really, can the clank take down the battery/emitter combo before the other ship kills it? I think you would find that the number of ships capable of stopping him thus are a bit more… limited.

And yeah, you are right, Circe cannot take a Clank 1 on 1 at full health. It’s loadouts don’t output enough damage to Clank, and then there’s that annoying wall, which you can jump over, but tends to reduce your damage output even more. And then of course it can’t chase very well.

Klackerer im talking about Doctor, killing spree, Gold Medals and so on. I would like to know your Counts on those ( not the newest Medals because i played max 10 matches in the last 3 month with Hirudo ).

My Hirudo Archievements out of 73 matches:

346x Domino effect
12x Base Hunter
3x 50 Shades ofDrone
37x Stalker
50x Gold Medal ( that means in 68 % of all Hirudo matches i got #1 ! )
69x In the Black
52x Top Gun
42x Drone Wars
64x Atom Hound
6x Bronze
14x Silver
61x Shield Sapper
59x Victory Medal
190x Killing Spree !
29x Staying Alive

Circuit Overload done ( kill 5 Players in 10 seconds )

Let me see your Medals, Klackerer

And about Hawk.
Im training with it now more and more and i get the feeling for it now step by step. Killing a Ship in 1 second isnt that hard like everybody thinks. You just have to ram the enemy ship and turn 10° left and right and you can hit the Enemy ship with your blades around 6x per second!

When discussing how overpowered a ship is, variables such as skill, tech or ops MUST BE AVOIDED. Your argument is invalid.

Lol So I read SOME of this, and I don’t think the reason people play the game and then leave has much to do with ship balance. It’s because the tutorial sucks, matchmaker sucks, and people are dicks.

I mostly agree with the main post, any ship can be considered OP and so i think that none should be. Yeah Undu is super long range and kill front turrents at level 1, but later in the game it can easily be kept out of your base by a defending Craw/Dread/Turbo. Each ship has its own weakness and strengths, just play to what suits you best.

By last count, seem like 5 of the 15 ships are overpowered. Seems fair to me. Seems like these ships provide inbuilt modes of play:
Easy mode:Craw, Ant, Turbo, Clank, and Undo, sorta point and shoot though turbo requires significant practice.
Mild Challenge: Try Shino, Jabby, SS, Dread, Hiru, Wolf, Circie, XXRRG, and Torp if you want a bit of challenge in your fight. All can compete, but may be a bit tough to learn at first.
Hard core: Take an Angel, and maybe Torpaz, decent challenge challenge to be effective.
