This is not "OK" - Vorp *cannot* survive when things like this happen

Matchmaker needs to be fixed, even with lower population.

Many solutions have been proposed such as:

1. Hiding names on all sides in lobby
2. putting people into a “wait zone” in game, until all ships are loaded
3. Reshuffling teams once an even number of people have been found
4. Penalizing people who leave a lobby (by up to 50 points or preventing a person to play for a certain period of time, depending on rating)
5. etc etc

games like the above are NOT ok. It’s completely unfair for the under-rated team.

I don’t see how the second match is unfair considering you have 1400 ranking. THe first one tho. That sucks.

This is how I kick matchmaker’s antics in the ass.

Terrible start to game, We lost emitter before anything even started to get moving on my team.

At the end, defended for 5 minutes and I barely won the game by one shot with aero slash :D.
Eat it matchmaker that what you get for giving me crap like this.

Honestly I don’t think the game will lose too many more players… there aren’t a ton of noobs left to leave :) Yes, there are bad players but they’ve stuck around for a while.

The quality of my games has actually been BETTER the past few days – I’ve seen fewer feeder noobs in general (both my team and opponent’s). But maybe that’s just luck / good timing.

@"repsow" The problem with the second picture you posted wasn’t the teams, it was the ships. Craw + Ant vs. Undu is gonna win. Kaskaska is pretty decent (though I haven’t seen his hiru), so is Lonwyr. But you were playing Circe :(

Best Matchmaker ever. Not only do we start right away with 4 versus 5.
But our 4-man team also has 3x 11xx score players in it. Lawl!

How can the match maker work when people make alts? repsow may rank 1240 or so, but you know that you can play at 1400+ level. Teaming and leaving lobby deliberately are the two things that kill the match maker, remove either and the community will whine even more.

Seriously… the same guys who are saying the ELO system is broken are saying matchmaking is terrible, too. If ELO isn’t a good meter of how good a player is, then why is it the measurement of fairness here?

I’ve found my vorping to be consistently enjoyable, and I rarely team up with people. Sometimes we get slaughtered, but that’s the way it goes.
