Hey guys
Help me with my Pyro loadout

Primary: Stock Flamethrower, Backburner, and Phlogistinator (I don’t own the Phlogistinator. I’m just trying it out from the Mann Co. Store)
Secondary: Shotgun, Reserve Shooter, Flare Gun
Melee: Fire Axe, Third Degree

Worst melee weapon ever.

Degreaser/Shotgun/Axtinguisher is my favorite.

From what you have, I’d go with Backburner/Shotgun/Third Degree (note: I forget the Third Degree’s downside, but the Fire Axe is useless). The Phlog is also a good choice and if you’re good at airblasting you can opt for the Flamethrower, though the Degreaser is essentially a straight upgrade to the Flamethrower. Flare Gun is fun but the shotgun tends to be more useful; it actually might be a good pick if you’re using the Backburner or even the Phlog because you have excellent short range damage (for the former) and an incentive to use your flamethrower for short range (for the latter), I don’t use them so I wouldn’t know. The shotgun actually outdamages the flamethrowers (not sure about the Backburner) at all ranges, but in practice the flamethrowers tend to be more effective at very short range and the shotgun more effective at mid-short range.

For Pyro melee, the best one is the Axtinguisher clearly, but the Backscratcher has some use and the Powerjack is okay if you like the Polycount set.

The Zatoichi is typically a terrible, terrible weapon, unless you’re playing medieval, in which case it’s awesome.

The Soldier’s best melee weapon is the equalizer, and has been the equalizer since it was released. The equalizer is insanely good if you learn how to use it effectively, and still a very strong weapon for those who have no idea what they’re doing.

I can’t really say I know what the Demo’s best weapon is. I personally prefer the Caber, though the bottle is also very effective in many cases. Demo-knight is a completely different topic, but Demo-knight is a shit class and isn’t credit to team, so they aren’t worth discussion.

I often use Demo-Knight when I use the Demo because I’m terrible with grenade launchers.

More like that it isn’t the Homewrecker or Backscratcher. If you are getting within melee range of an enemy, you should seriously rethink your strategy.
