South Park is more progressive than MLP:FiM (locked)

Lets compare their retarded chatacters: Jimmy and Derpy.

1. Jimmy gets a normal name. Derpy is named after a derogatory term for the mentally handicapped.
2. Jimmy is introduced as a comedian who gets everyone to laugh at his jokes. Derpy is introduced as a clumsy horse who accidentally causes many problems, and everyone laughs at her.
3. Jimmy has a normal voice, but he stutters a lot. Derpy sounds like they got an intern to do their best “retard” voice.

Discuss how South Park is more PROGRESSIVE than MLP:FiM.

Seriously, thought, quite frankly, one thing is to represent real problems that adults have to deal with. Another thing is to represent such problems as something perfectly natural, as this couldlead to their banalization. I wouldnt forbit it from being aired, as I am a strong defender of free speech, and believe that people should be mature enought not to base their morals in a show( I said they should, not are ). But I really dont watch this kind of thing, nor recomend it.

That’s where you fail to see the obvious. Derpy Hooves has no mental disability, she’s just naturally clumsy. I know people like this IRL.
The reason her voice sounds a bit too slurred is because the voice actor, at the time of recording, didn’t know Derpy was a girl, so she ended up recorded it as a male voice. If she knew it was a girl, she probably would’ve recorded it differently. There are many fan-made flashes that have better Derpy voice acting.

I dont know what makes you think that way when it comes to bronies. I enjoy the show. It is hard for me to rationally explain why, but I think that its light atmosphere, and the innocence of the characters, remind me of my own childhood, when I was still young and pure and didnt knew how many bad things there are in this world, and help me with the depression I am currently at. Addicionally, it DO has some funny jokes. And, there just arent many shows better lately.

I know there are idiots who cant help but to constantly make any conversation be about it, post series and series of MLP pics, and says that a pony will win a fight against people like Goku because of the power of friendship, and indeed, they are the reason why I was so hesitant to watch the show, and even became a hater during some time before watching it. But they are just the loud minority amongst the silent majority, if you ask me…

I think the crowll is fed enough.
