I really dislike people who use the term “friendzone”, as it makes them look like they are looking for a girlfriend, and not true love, which is absolutely horrible

It just seems kinda wrong to me. It makes friendship look like a bad thing. And makes you look like you are trying to be a macho, and miserably failing at it.

Wanted to pursue a romantic relationship with somebody you have feelings for but they end up not reciprocating those feelings? Yeah, it sucks being a friend when you have feelings for them that go beyond that.

What about explaining how much exactly do you like them? I’m sure they would understand. And if they do not, they probably do not even remotely like you and you should start working on crushing that feeling.
