Let Me Explain

Recently I have been told that my nickname “The Savior” is offencive. Let me tell you know that if you look up savior in the dictionary there will be two words, Saviour and savior. Saviour relates to Jesus Christ. While savior relates to a person that saves another person or a group, ex.: Firefighter or policeman. My nickname is “The Savior” not relating to Jesus Christ at all. I hope this explanation will help you better understand my nickname.

Savior is just the American spelling of saviour. They mean the same thing.

1st definition.

Saviour redirects to exactly the same set of definitions. You might as well say colour and color have different meanings.

The first definition is always the most common.

The words mean the same thing, but there are 2+ different meanings. One means Jesus Christ, the other just means “A person who saves.”

I know. I’m just saying that saviour has the same definitions as savior, so saying they mean different things is absurd. I really couldn’t care less what you call yourself.

One means Jesus Christ, the other just means “A person who saves.”

When Savior/Saviour is capitalised, as in this case, it’s usually referring to Jesus.

I do have an Oxford dictionary here but there isn’t an online version of that so I can’t show you it sadly.
