People hate the police because they expect them to be perfect for some reason. They will make mistakes just like anyone else, except they happen to be in a position that holds a lot of responsibility which amplifies their mistakes. You have to remember that they are bound by the law to do things by the books, even if it may seem unreasonable to you. They have to keep their jobs.

You know, police officers are for a reason. You’re not a coward if you sometimes have to rely on them

You don’t have to demonstrate your “toughness” by hating police and refusing to interact with them, possibly even being hostile towards them. Go climb at top of the Mt. Everest, parachute jump from an airplane or be open and ask that girl out you have crush on and prove your worthyness. Seriously, I may be overracting to caaaw thread but hating police doesn’t prove anything

And about police officers screwing up, which leads to feel of distrust among public audience, I’ll just concur with Sike
