Would you rather be a fiddler or a violinist?

Just to clarify, a fiddle and a violin are the same instrument. The difference is in how they are played.

To spare you of having to type tl;dr, I’ll make the distinction between fiddlers and violinists brief.

Violinists are seen as fancy, formal, and educated.

Fiddlers are folksy, informal, and usually not academics.

Violinist. I could not handle playing with a band that consisted of a sweaty fat guy blowing on a jug and a guy missing a few teeth and most of his brain scratching a wash board.

Can I fiddle with my “violin”?

Fiddler. Playing folk music is more intimate and fun.

Oh those bands are pretty good. Animals as Leaders are much more talented however.

Well, if I’d look at this realistically violin lessons and schools and such are expensive as fuck and folk rock is pretty much the only kind of rock that’s not dead here in the asshole of the universe so I’d much rather be a fiddler.
