Both sound pretty damn good.
making me choose one would be a bother.
But I guess I’d rather be a violinist.

Well, either way I’d still choose being a fiddler.

Would you rather play 50 fiddle-sized violins or 1 violin sized fiddle?

Fiddler, because that sounds more fun.

Is it really that hard to read the op? gosh.
Just to clarify, a fiddle and a violin are the same instrument. The difference is in how they are played.
Violinists are seen as fancy, formal, and educated.
Fiddlers are folksy, informal, and usually not academics.

Oh I forgot about those exceptions to the rule. I rephrase my statement to “It’s the only metal worth listening to %80 of the time.”
Prog death for life.
Like Animals As Leaders or not?
BAHAHAHAH calling Animals as Leaders prog death holy shit
They don’t even sing! How could they be prog death?
No, prog death is Opeth, Ihsahn, Ikuinen Kaamos, Ne Obliviscaris and bands like that.
Oh those bands are pretty good. Animals as Leaders are much more talented however.
Not really. Though they can shred they lack the finesse to create emotion like other bands do, plus don’t forget that lyrics are extremely important in music.

I disagree. I think the majority of bands use lyrics as a crutch. It’s much more difficult to make good music without lyrics.

Even then they fall short of the bands listed above. They really need to get themselves a keyboard player and some good blues guitars because Ibanez isn’t gonna give them any deep emotional sounds.

Mind the bump, but the reason I posed the question of this thread is that I need to answer the question myself.
I bought a violin/fiddle this weekend, and I must decide whether I should be a fiddler or a violinist.
I have two instruction manuals: one on playing the fiddle, and one on playing the violin. They both came with instructional DVDs that had sample music. It may have simply been the result of song selection, but the fiddle music seemed much more fun and lively to me, whether it was Irish, Scottish, or Bluegrass. From this, I think I’d prefer to be a fiddler.
Anyone care to convince me otherwise?

I will.
Also, this is proof that fiddlers are more badass than violinists.
