What is StepMania?

StepMania is a free dance and rhythm game for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It features 3D graphics, keyboard and “dance pad” support, and an editor for creating your own steps.

The latest version can be downloaded here.

Tutorials = Click on a picture to view its tutorial. You can also read.

How to Download Songs
Download a song or a song pack.
If the song isn’t in a song pack, go to your StepMania/Songs folder and make a song pack for it.
Drag the song pack to the songs folder or the song to the song pack you just made.
Open StepMania, go to options, and reload your songs and courses.
Enjoy!

Stepmania is shit. It’s like the touhou to rhythm games, hard as fuck and not fun. There has to be a balance between fun and difficult, like there is in Miku Project Diva and things like that.

I always preferred Flash Flash Revolution.

It’s not hard

It seems like too much effort for not so much fun.

I like osu’s mania better, and I don’t like it all.

When I tried it, it was impossible.. but the reason i stopped playing was because its boring. Its needs more randomness instead of having the notes just pour down the screen vertically. And it only uses arrow keys. :\

i hate games like this.

Speedo, do you use the arrow keys or something else? I use the ASKL keys.

Play easier maps. There are a ton of StepMania levels with different difficulties, just look for them.
If you want to get better, practice. In my opinion, Touhou’s one of the easier Japanese shmups out there, and Project Diva’s too casual, but that’s just me.

I made a spreadsheet to track my FCs on FFR a couple years ago. It’s now completely obsolete, but it was fun to look back on. Can’t believe there used to be only 24 level 3 songs.
