Should i read it?
i heard linux is free, is that true?
what are the advantages of using and understanding a linux operating system on my computer?
Is the book worth reading?

No, Linux’s GUI is generally very user-friendly anyway, at least some distros (most notably Ubuntu). You don’t need to read a book on it.
Compiling code and extracting tar.gz files can get a bit tricky, but it is probably better to Google any problems you may have.

Pros:
- no one really makes viruses for them
- easier to code on (at least imo)
- usually more lightweight and faster than windows
- free/open source
Cons:
- no one makes vidya games for it since its a small pool of users

Yeah see I didn’t know anyone actually used it. Hardly anyone makes any programs for that operating system or anything. Very rarely will I see a program with a “Linux” option.

The irony is that any decent game programmed in C++ can be ported to linux using the proper headers.. As far as programs go, you got pidgin which is like AIM/ MSN all in one, firefox comes stock usually, you got wine to run any windows binary you may need. I only use linux for coding and hax though.
