The Official Music Thread: Take Two

Greetings!
Considering the current state of Metallifan2, the old music thread is no longer able to be updated by the OP. Because of this, we (Arcadianfire and TheInternetRules) feel that another music thread is necessary.

Introduction

As a few of you older users may remember, 2011 was the year that marked the end of Kongregate’s Music subforum. Because of this, us music lovers have had to migrate to Off-Topic, causing the majority of the music-related discussion that had occurred on this website to cease. The original music thread was a haven for those who’d wished to continue speaking of their love of music. But this thread has died, mostly due to the fact that I (ArcadianFire) decided to spam the forums with pornography for shits n’ giggles. That was fun! But anyway, the OP of that thread can no longer be updated, which had sparked the creation of thread you’re in at this very moment.

A Few Rules

I know you’re probably thinking to yourself ‘Ogolly, we’ve already got enough rules to follow here’. Be this as it may, I feel this thread does require a few extra rules not mentioned in Off-Topic’s guidelines.

Don’t Hate, Appreciate!
As I’m sure you’re all aware, not everyone will agree with your taste in music. But this does not give you the right to go around hating on peoples’ musical preferences willy nilly. Of course you can say things like ‘Oh, I don’t like rap music’, but saying things like ‘Rap is garbage’ isn’t something I feel should be tolerated in a thread such as this one. This thread is designed to share music, regardless of genre. If you do not like a particular genre, I’d suggest you simply disregard the post/recommendation and move on with your life.

Links Without Reason Are Like A Pornography Without Nudity
Please provide a description or reason behind a link you’re posting! If you refuse to do so, this thread’s going to from being a discussion thread to being a repeat of the YouTube Masterthread i.e. it’s going to get locked. So to keep from making things spamming, please provide some sort of substance in your posts, rather than a simple link.
This is the ‘Rate the Song Above You’ thread. That is the thread that you use to share music for the sole purpose of having others rate it. Don’t do it here.

Don’t Use the Force, Luke!
I’m sure you’ve all had some sort of experience involving someone cramming their music down your throat. If someone doesn’t like your music, don’t make them listen to it. This just gets redundant and annoying. If someone doesn’t like a particular genre of music, then they don’t like a particular genre of music.

And that is the end of that story.

Pierre Henry is one of the great men of 60s electronic music, part of the vital forces behind developing musique concrète and an essential name in mid 20th century futurism.
As one of my favourite 20th century composers, I wish to share his work with you.
Psyche Rock is as its name suggests, psychedelic rock but still has the found sounds and novelty effects that fascinated him from the start of his career. I pick this particular song because its influence is still heard today, try and guess where.

What did my post get removed for? I was posting a picture of Steven Wilson’s The Raven That Refused to Sing. Very music-related.

I don’t know why they would decide to remove them now.

Because there’s an agreement on content to help stop what’s already happening now.

Most recently, I’ve been listening to Modest Mouse and Death Cab.

Might I recommend Gibbard’s solo stuff, consider he is the lead singer of DCfC. You may also enjoy Pavement.

I’ve already heard most of Ben Gibbard’s solo stuff, so I’ll check out Pavement. Thanks.

Why did Mangum sing “I LOVE YOU JESUS CHRIST” if everyone knew Anne Frank was jewish?
