I’m sure there’s another thread about this, but what are the greatest, must-see movies of all-time? They can be dramatic, action-packed, funny, or scary, I don’t care. My personal favorites are:

Happy Gilmore
Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Napoleon Dynamite
School of Rock
Cloverfield
The Godfather
Rocky
Toy Story

All the Star Wars films. And the Indinia Jones ones. :D

indiana jones was pretty good, and star wars 3-6 were awesome, but the first two (phantom menace and attack of the clones) sucked.

The African Queen (1952)
Aliens (1986)
Apocalypse Now (1979)
Apollo 13 (1995)
A.I. (2001)
The Battle of Algiers (1965)
Blazing Saddles (1974) – If I had to pick one, this would likely be it.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
Full Metal Jacket (1987)
Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
The King and I (1956)
Malcolm X (1992)
The Manchurian Candidate (1962)
M*A*S*H (1970)
Les Miserables (1935)
The Pianist (2002)
Platoon (1986)
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Star Wars (1977)
Storytelling (2001)
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

There are a few very good looking musicals I plan to pick up soon, but I won’t rate them yet as I have not seen them. I also left out a number of silent movie classics, might add them in later.

Nobody’s mentioned Titanic? Okay…

Titanic
Catch Me If You Can
2001: A Space Odyssey
(oh god, that movie was brilliant)

I’m going to have to give some basic criticism for the first post here.

Happy Gilmore

Funny, but not by any chance one of the greatest movies of all time.

Cloverfield

Lol, no. Cloverfield was, indeed, a fun movie. It was nothing brilliant.

Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Read ‘Happy Gilmore’ response.

(by the way, AbusedZebra, Pineapple Express was absolutely terrible)
