I see nothing about ska here, that sadly disappoints me.
i love ska, i have for many years, so lets discuss some of the better ska bands eh?
I really like Suburban Legends and mad caddies, they have really nice long horn sections and fast-er paced music.
ANYONE ELSE WITH ME?

I really like to listen to ska but I think it’s hard to find ska artists in stores. Therefore, I don’t know any artists of ska. I’ll look at the ones you have listed there then…

well since no one else really posted… ill post some more really good bands up
these two are mainstream 3rd wave ska
older catch22 stuff – fast paced punk rock with horns
streetlight manifesto – a more refined version of the old catch 22
heres some mainstream 3rd wave ska that are more well known
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones- Great band, fairly old but still amazing…
Less then Jake
Reel Big Fish
Goldfinger – well known for a track called superman which was in the original Tony Hawk Pro Skater and their cover of 99 red balloons
The Aquabats – funky 3rd wave ska with alot of different sounding songs, generally meant to be funnier then serious
Some other random 3rd wave ska that is really good
Dance Hall Crashers – Female lead singer, but still great.
The Hippos
Something To Do
Big D and the Kids Table – not for everyone
RxBandits – also not for everyone
The Impossibles – harder to find but pretty good none-the-less
The Gadjits – Interesting band
Thats a good chunk of ska, theres much much more…you just need to know where to look. there used to be an internet radio station for ska…but it has alot of downtime…6 months to a year, then its up for a while…then down again…etc. listen to it if you ever get the chance, and write down some bands.
the ones without comments i just couldn’t think of anything to say about them at the time. Have fun with that, ska is great music, and each band has an original sound…and theres at least one ska band out there for everyone that they will like.

Ugh, showing my age here but Operation: Ivy probably was the best Ska band in my opinion.
They later went on to become Rancid.

I’m a gigantic fan of ska. Check out Bomb the Music Industry . They’re borderline ska, I guess, but fun as hell. And I spent some time this week partying with them.
Anyways, my favourite ska bands are probably the Skatalites, the Slackers and The Planet Smashers.

Reel big fish just because of the fact of how great a show they put on. I just saw them last weekend in PA at my friends college.

Ha, I love The Aqua Bats and almost all the bands you mentioned, JJ; and some of the newer Catch 22 is pretty good, but Catch 22 is really angry at Tom Kalnoky (Streetlight Manifesto’s lead singer and lyric writter). Thats what “A Moment of Silence” was about, as Catch 22 detested Tom leaving the band to go to college in one of thier songs yet still played the songs that Tom wrote like “Keasby Nights” and “On & On & On”.
If you like Streetlight check out Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution (BOTAR). Its an acoustic band that plays some Streetlight songs and some of thier own songs. They are pretty cool.
