You need a pack of mana to create the color gems or you need some skill points for the gem color mastery to get them at the start of each level, you also need a supply of mana to combine them to one Prismatic gem. They don’t have good special powers or do a great damage. They become a killer
when they reach Grade 8 to 11. Anything Grade 7 or lower I use them for traps. Just because traps will boost their special, try them and see what you’ll say about these tough gem.

prismatic mastery will raise the special power to 80-10%, in descending order. example, if the specials order are yellow, orange, red, lime, blue, cyan, green, and purple, so the specials will have 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, and 10% strength, respectively.
Plus prismatics are awesome when it comes to damage.

ah, prismatics…
Useless below grade 11. At/above grade 11, the’re the best for damage-when hevily supergemming, that is.
now, a prismatic gem has all 8 specials at once, but each special is weaker than in a triple gem (or pseudo-prismatic). However, its mana farming abilities may actually be superior to any other gem, since it has Red, orange, yellow, lime, and cyan (just enough), all of which can contribute to mana farming…unfortunately, even when it is optimized for mana farming, it uses more processorpower/managained than triple gems such as R/O/Y.
as for towers…once a strong mana farm is in place, the multiplier high, grade 12 prismatics/pseudoprismatics make for very quick damage increase when placed in towers.
though of course, nothing beats a prismatic supergem when it comes to damage :).

Is it possible to decide the order of the special? For example, if I want a gem with 80, 70, 60% of orange, red and blue, wich gems should i combine first and how?
i noticed that when you create a dual gem (for example, a yellow-blue gem) if you select first a gem or the other one the result will be different (the dual gem will be Y-B or B-Y). This must have a correlation with the creation of the prismatic gem desired. Hope someone can reply my questions!

Step 1: Do whatever, doesn’t matter, get your prismatic gem, up its damage, etc.
Step 2: Click combine
Step 3: Drag desired 60% gem into prismatic gem → IE: Drag Blue into Prismatic
Step 4: Drag desired 70% gem into prismatic gem → IE: Drag Red into Prismatic
Step 5: Drag desired 80% gem into prismatic gem → IE: Drag Orange into Prismatic
Note: You should have all the said gems in your tray, not in a trap or in a tower… I vaguely recall someone mentioning the ordering causes funkyness in when the Prismatic is in tower / traps.
Note: Grade 6 gem is enough to make alignment of Grade 12 prismatic shift. I’m not sure about 13+, but I’d imagine it have similar effect.
Hope that helps.

I use prismatic gem at traps. They’re not really good if you put them on the towers because they have low special attacks.
EDITED the infomation and thread.

For beating the game? Useless.
For doing pointless challenges, like trying to beat all the waves on the final level? Vital

Prismatic gems ARE true killers when placed in traps, though they may be inferior to Dual R/O in mana leeching.
As for towers I think nothing beats Dual L/Y

I’ve never tried creating a Primastic gem yet, and i’m on level id 48 :s
Duals are everything that I need to beat the game, at least for now.
For traps, I use orange gems combined with red ones for mana farming. Sometimes I also use orange/cyan dual but it’s rare.
For towers I think everyone agrees with Dual gems, when on grade 10+ they are awesome.
Sorry for any English mistake Lol.

ok, usually when i make a supergem, and pump it full of level-6’s or 7s, i make a level 12 or so and keep it duel, for the extra bonuses.
is this wrong? you guys are tellin me that prismatics are ub3r l33t for getting that daamge high! i’ve only gotten stuff up to like 15k-40k, but on the level i was on, that didnt come close to cutting it! do you supergem level11+ prismatics?

No need to use super high levels. Just make it 7 or so (I don’t really remember anymore, but I think they have to be a certain level to hit the right caps), and throw level one gems in it. It’s far more cost effective for the benefit you get and since you can add anything to anything you don’t really even have to pay attention.

if you are going for the really high scores or are trying to beat all 228 waves of the inal level then a grade 7 prismatic wont cut it, very high grade gems such as grae 15 prismatics can cut through over 150 armor without a problem, and should be pumped full of grade 6’s if you are very good at making manafarms then a grade 15+ prismatic can be created in every wave then pumping them full of grade 6’s will boost the damage to 100’s of thousands and millions if you spend long enough on one. once this said gem is put into a trap then it will annihilate basically everything that come near to it with a max fire rate of 1018 in a trap and damage 1/5th of the tower damage but hitting up to 5 creeps at once, it can perma shock the giants and take 100’s of millions of hp away from the creeps. this is the most effective way of getting anything that can destroy the fanial waves of the 228 with giants having billions of HP.
Good luck to all who attempt this challenge

pures vs. duals vs prismatics vs pseudo prismatics….
at the very, very begginning, pures and duals are the way to go.
“midway”, supergemmed grade 3+ duals become the best way to go-you can get them to 222 firerate.
“endgame/postgame” (read: hard-core, 228 challenge, or endurance, after maxing out the usefull skills), prismatic traps become the best way to do massive damage. Simple reason: at grade 12+, everything has the same base firerate. prismatics and pseudo prismatics(mixed gems) are the only gems that can take advantage of R, L, and Y at the same time. Prismatics have these as slightly weaker each, but receive an additional damage boost from the prismatic skill.
of course, the best thing about prismatics is the sheer SPEED at which they can be supergemmed-there is no need to check to make sure you’re combining them with a desired gem.

generally you want to save a few yellows and add them last to boost its fire/range.
My best prismatic was a level 20. It took me a few hours to make.

Prismatics are great for levels with lots of color gems. On the last level for example, it’s alot easier combining gems if you don’t have to worry about making sure it’s the same 2 colors. Prismatics work best in traps, and should be at level 11 or higher to maximize speed and range. To control the weightings you have the prismatic gem in your inventory and drag whatever color gem on-top to make that the dominant special. Hands down the best combo is: Yellow, Lime, Green, Red, Purple, Orange, Blue, Cyan. So just add those gems to a prismatic in reverse order – starting with the Cyan.
Remember: Yellow should be strongest, Cyan weakest.

Red – 5 monsters hit per attack
Purple – 22% chance reduce armor by 3
Orange – 2.8 mana per hit (times multiplier)
Blue – slow by 96% for (varies – increases with every blue added) seconds
Cyan – 5% chance of 3 second stun
