Specialization scroll

I would like to use a specialization scroll, but every time I try to use it, it says “scroll refuses to work for fully equipped characters.” I have tried unequipping all equipment and the scroll still doesn’t work. So, how do you use the scroll?

You unequip all your equipment (including belt) and use the scroll… Works everytime on but-naked characters :)
