Hey all!

I just wanted to make a little post to talk about water tower placement. Because the towers cant be moved you have to really think about how to put them in the city to maximize your space. Here are a few of the strategies I use:

~Click your current water tower and look at the blue circles…you want to put your new tower in a place that will maximize your area coverage so at the very end of a blue circle or a spot where two circles meet seem to be the best places to target, the more area to scavenge the better!

~Make sure they are spaced so that it lines up with your buildings, nothing ruins an awesome city like a water tower that wastes squares because it doesnt line up with your building plans (try to get the towers so that 4 small buildings will fit between each tower)

~Dont forget about the ‘Coming Soon’ buildings! Try to uncover these and keep an eye on them!

And above all HAVE FUN!

Yeah it’s very annoying to have a well that doesn’t line up with the other buildings.

This is why I have a suggestion:
Allow us to remove them. Not move, but remove them. Doing so means you lose the batteries used to build it and then have to spend new batteries to rebuild it.
Of course, in order to remove them, you have to make sure you don’t have any buildings in an area you couldn’t otherwise build to.

Any opinions?

Definitely agree, even if it costs gold. Suffering forever because you made small mistake back when you were starting is just not fun.

maybe not remove them, but allow us to move them to the proper place because you placed in wrong spot, but cost more batteries to move it , i had 1 well that would not go down where it should have, even with nothing in the way, very strange , maybe a bug ? and i have been playing this game on Facebook so i know about the placements of wells, im stuck at lvl 81 on Facebook, looking for the 100 thousand parts to build 1 Data Matrix,,,lol and i need 10 them times 6 to upgrade Nuclear Transformer MKIII to MKIV, after 2 months i almost have enough to make 1 Data Matrix, lol and i play game everyday, witch make no sense at all on why it taking so long

You really expect nuclear fission materials to just jump in your pocket? Cmon now man. This is the APOCALYPSE! Machined materials you need will most likely be too trashed to use which is why you don’t find them so often. The people who used to know how to make them? Dead or forgot how most likely. nod nod

Yeah! Seems logical.

But to get to the main topic:
Just the option to destroy wells would be fine enough. They wouldn’t decrease in value thought and we would be able to rectify mistakes, some of us had made (me inclueded _)

Hope, they implement such a feature or one similar to it.

Yup, moving wells makes no sense (well, to be honest, neither does moving any buildings), but destroying them and re-building them does.

I agree with destroying and rebuilding them. There’s no reason why this shouldn’t work; if we’re willing to abandon one and start over from scratch, that should be enough to allow it.

Its not an original game mechanic so it could take some time, but I will definitely see what can be done.

but consider this: although i’ve built only 10 wells yet, the ability to recycle wells would allow me to set 3 wells from the inner area to the borders, which would mean a area gain of say 15% (without a proper workout, so even more is possible…theoretically a rate of 50% should be achievable). This could quite radically change the colony design on higher tiers, where you can operate with ca. 25 wells, blocking huge army deployment areas.

hm, ok, don’t take the numbers too serious, but the point itself is shown, i think

First of all, for this topic to make sense for let’s say “experienced” players, please confirm that the abosulte limit for auxiliary wells is 29, like it says on the wiki page.

Second, what is most time available for an attacker? Cause if it is 6 minutes and we would all be able to move/destroy and rebuild (isn’t it the same thing?) those 29 wells, at Tier T10, when their range will be maximum, then I see a perimeter that outreaches the whole area of each player’s base. Where would we place our units then? Or… wouldn’t it take too long for certain units (like that Big Time Bomber or whatever, that only has 385 movememnt speed) to reach its destination… wouldn’t this make attacking another player’s base too difficult, SIMPLY BECAUSE some units will not actually attack during the preset attack-time? This would be so lame…

Third, I would love to be able to move some wells myself, especially if that limitation number, 29, is accurate.

Cheers.
