I am lvl 28 and since lvl 20 I didnt seem to find any more treted wood. I keep recycying all the stuff but dont get any more. Its annoying enough to need to go to lower level areas but even more so if you dont know where to search.
anybody can help?

Usually, the best way to get treated wood is to recycle green or rarer (though sometimes very good quite, though this is highly unlikely) wood-based weapons. I get a heck of a lot of treated wood from green batons/baseball bats/guitars etc. You can find baseball bats and guitars in residences, although it is hard to get high-quality white/green versions of these. Usually, I find batons in streets. Although I’m only lvl10 atm, so I don’t have much use for all the treated wood I get. But I get quite a lot, so I think the advice is still worthwhile.

most of the treated wood will eventually go to the Weapon Bench… I do auto missions to lvl 5-8 streets (where said weapons are likely to be found)

High-quality Fire Axes also give Treated Wood and can be found at slightly higher levels (up to 13?) if you don’t want to go that low. Would be nice if the same were true for Survival Axes, but it’s not.
If you’re in a rush, according to the wiki you might be able to convert some metal components to Treated Wood by building and scrapping Balanced Brutal Bloodlusters or upgrading and scrapping low-grade Fire Axes; this would cost Fuel (29 per BBB or 6 for a green Fire Axe) but probably less than buying Treated Wood outright especially if you have a crafting book. I don’t have one I can look at right now though, so I can’t tell you if it’s true.

Back to the topic, some weapons can give you treated wood when recycled. But you can also find it in higher level Hardware Stores/Warehouses and other similar buildings. Or, you can trade for treated wood.

it is rare, found where ever recources/junk is found and from some melee weapons. Best way is to make it in your crafting menu, useing fuel which is worth it.

I agree with everything except the “make it in your crafting menu, useing fuel which is worth it.” part. It is a waste of fuel. By crafting 2 treated wood/heavy fabric/hardened metal you can trade for it using the same amount of fuel (20) and get like 50 of them.
Never, NEVER craft those 3.

It is still useful to craft treated wood/heavy fabric/hardened metal if you don’t have anybody to trade with or don’t have valuable items to trade for those items.

farm maps that give green/blue/purple melee weapons with wooden components (Guitars, Cricket Bats, Wooden Baseball bats, Axes and even Wakisaki swords can all occasionally give treated wood if they are of a high enough rarity.
Good spot to farm is the residences in the stadium because they often have cricket bats and guitars. (low level areas take less time to return, so you can farm out more maps in low level zone to increase your odds of getting treated wood. It’s still kind of a pain in the butt to get enough treated wood for the last weapons bench upgrades though, so be patient)

You can get anywhere from 0-3 Treated Wood by recycling any of the cricket bats, wooden bats and guitars from Stadium, regardless of quality. Getting 1 or 2 TW per auto-scavenge is most likely. Hit up residences.
EDIT: Auto-scavenges will take no more than an hour each and with a high enough level, you can pull it off with a single survivor with melee weapon.

The best way for me (level 40) to get treated wood is to recycle high level & high quality combat knives. For the blue superior combat knives level 34 – 37 you usually get 8 pieces of treated wood. Haven’t tried higher level knives yet.
