Which weapons or gear have you found to be useful by crafting in the weapons or gear bench? I don’t have any engineers, so I’m wondering whether I should upgrade them.
And is it just me, or do I need to use fuel to craft anything? See look, the craft now button at the bottom right says I have to consume fuel:
yep, it does need fuel, ive upgraded mine to lvl 5 i think, both weapon and gear, it is actually good since some upgraded and crafted weapons are stronger and sometimes have bonus stats and improvements, i just wish crafting doesnt consume fuel
Pretty much the only crafted gear and weapons I have are ones which I found schematics for – they are generally better than normal drops. The higher level the craft, the more fuel it costs to make.
Generally, the improvement from the weapons purely from the benches are too slim to be worthwhile for the amount of fuel and components used up. I’ve got level 5 weapons bench and gear bench too, and so far the only craft that I think is worthwhile (that isn’t found with a schematic) is the Spiked Bat. It did very good damage for it’s level (level 2 weapons bench, I think) plus knockback. It’s a good weapon for the engineer, who is a melee specialist and will also benefit from the improvised weapons specialisation. Besides, if you don’t manage to find a better melee weapon to replace it, you can even turn it into a Quality Spiked Bat or Balance Thumping Spiked Bat at later levels.

So in other words, I can upgrade it for more crafting. I’m a bit stingy with my fuel right now but thank you for your advice.
