Thanks for everyone who voted, the game just got through Greenlight!
That was way sooner than I expected and I probably need to do a lot of work now to make a Steam version Idling to Rule the Gods.
You might want to go to (and like or follow) my newly created Facebook ([https://www.facebook.com/shugasu/](https://www.facebook.com/shugasu/)) and Twitter ([https://twitter.com/Shugasu\_Games](https://twitter.com/Shugasu_Games)) accounts, where I will post updates from time to time.

i really want improved graphics and others want story (i don’t really and if it takes all your free time in a week then definitely not) and also maybe another tab.

I will probably make a new gui-skin which hopefully looks better. I also might redraw the male hero a bit. As for the story, I will add the next chapter soon before the steam-version. Then maybe another chapter together with the steam version.

the web version will remain in parity right? I mean it’s what got this game to steam in the first place.

Pls don’t forget to make it native in Linux!

How is it going with steam? I am still very much excited for release on android! Is that still the plan as soon as steam is up and running?

Steam should be out soon, this or next week probably.
And yes, I might need a while to address some complains and bugs the first weeks after the steam release, but I plan to work on the Android-Version after that.
I’m not sure yet, if I want to invest too much time in it though.
Chances are, I only get it to work on android with the same UI. Making a new and different UI, especially for mobile would cost a lot of time and take several months of effort. With only making it playable with (almost) the same UI, it would be doable in one month or so.

Thanks for the reply! The version that you posted months (maybe a year?) Ago was very playable to me and I recall you saying that took relatively little effort to pump out. I definitely understand that you would want some more Polish on the few things that didn’t work perfectly, especially for new players. I think anyone who is already familiar with the game will be fine with the UI as is!
Keep it up, can’t wait for android version, even if ithe were just a hasty port like the last one, just with all the more recent content :)
Cheers!

Couldn’t get the kong version save to load into the steam version. I was trying pasting the save from the clip board into the txt save file. Any suggestions?

Does not work like that, after connecting and doing the nick:number thing you need to go to kong and click load online.
Something like that, i dont have a steam account, use the chat if that doesnt work, you are not the only one having problems and people there can help you.

Suggestion: Add cosmetics that are only unlocked if you have level X of badge (you earn badge by collecting all the trading cards of a game and then crafting)
It will increase the value of the trading cards for the game when they are released. The only game that I ever saw doing it was “Beat Hazard”.

It’s quite nice that in Godly Shots minigame on Steam your character flies much faster than on Kong, I like it :) The thing it.. it’s flying really, really fast on Steam, in comparison to Kongregate version. You can die really quickly and it’s hard to fully control your character.
What do you think about at least adding an ability to fly downwards, so we can survive after dashing too far up? :)
Not only because of that, I think that flying downwards would be really good, I wonder why we can’t do that. It would add more reflex element to the game :) The speed could be added to the speed of falling or something, what do you thing about it?
Did you, by any chance, played some Danmaku / Bullet Hell games, like Touhou? They usually have something like “focus” key, usually Shift, that makes you fly slower if you hold it down. Maybe, if the increased flying speed on Steam wasn’t intended, you could keep it anyway, but just add a focus button, that holding which would make the god/goddess fly slower?

It was not intented, it is probably because the browser doesn’t interfere in the Steam version. But well adding a focus option would be possible.

I tried to connect my steam and kongregate accounts, but mistyped one number and now I ended up with someone else’s game. Any way I could unlink them to keep playing on my game?

Currently not, but I guess I should add an option to break a connection… I will do that soon.

Are you able to implement a system similar to the ad points system you have in the browser version, into the steam version? If so, when do you think that would be implemented?
|

Afaik, the Steam-Api doesn’t offer something like kongregate where you can get and watch ads and I can’t use the Kongregate-Api for that.
So chances are slim, that I can add it to the Steam-Version.
Unity itself offers an api for ads in the games, though and I wanted to add that for the Android-Version. If it is possible to also use that for the Steam-Version, I might add it for both systems at once.
So as it stands now, either I will never add it (if it doesn’t work), or with the Android-Version (probably somewhere in August).

I did some searching and didn't find anything either here or at Reddit (unless I'm just terrible at searching which is always possible) -- is there a way to transfer purchases made with kreds to the steam version without importing the full save? I want to get the Steam achievements, but I bought a phoenix with kreds on kongregate that I would like to have on Steam as well.

No sorry, it would also be against the terms of uses in Kong. Even connecting the saves to a different plattform is actually not allowed, but the people from Kong said, I can let it be for now. But only adding purchases to a different plattform would be pretty sure a no go and I could get into trouble from both Kong and Steam for that.

Ah, gotcha. That makes sense! Thank you for letting me know :)
