bad game with tons of potential page 2

No idea what’s so bad about changing the titles; they are now more to the point of each thread.

‘Always the same’ used to be ‘The Soap Opera Effect’;

‘fun game … boring battles’ used to be ‘why this game fails’;

and of course, this thread has always been called ‘bad game with tons of potential’

I thought it was a nice gesture of Logan to bring these threads back; they show that over the last year, none of the real problems of this game have been fixed.

You, on the other hand…well I suppose you very well could be an advanced troll trying to create a new trolling style and using the desolate HoG forums as a prototype testing ground…but it is more likely you’re just an idiot.

This is actually a pretty clever post, but I am not interested. Nice try, though.

i can understand some of barts comments. i do not agree with all of them but there are some good points:
1. spamming only t10 makes it rather dull, make a strong type of ranged unit so that it is not an all-melee fight every game or as mentioned make it so you cannot have full TV on 1 unit
2. battlegrounds are boring, they do need some objects or some way of commanding troops to a point, perhaps make it larger so 1 unit cant cross the whole map in 1 turn and make ranged troops useless.
3. grafting and forging were nice ideas but now grafting has been removed, instead they added “gems” that are quite pathetic unless you have an insane amount of free time to go around collecting the 1000 lvl 1 gems needed to make a lvl 10 gem or another way for snail to charge us for stuff.

there are some very good ideas and complaints and should not be regarded as insults to the game as evryone is taking them but as ideas that snail should consider

Well as I said before, this thread is from last year, and I was not the one who bumped it.

I think the people who enjoy this game get what they want: only one unit, only one resource, battlefields where distances are irrelevant since everyone has BTB-Speed, useless ranged units. All this means you can fully concentrate on getting the best possible gear for your hero; everything else is irrelevant. Why not? Nothing wrong with that.

(The only bad thing is that all the other things, 10 different units, 5 resources, ranged units, they are all in the game. It is just retarded to include them and then make them worthless.)

So I should be grateful because you had my post removed for my benefit and not yours? You’re all heart Bart. It shouldn’t be long now before your gentle acts of kindness get rewarded by a higher power allowing you to turn water into wine and heal the sick with but a touch.

And why the bump you ask? Well in the other thread you asked me if I had anything new to add in which I utilized this thread and explained why I was doing so. But being the ever forgetful chap that you are you must have forgotten once again what I said. Forgetfullness, whether intentional or otherwise seems a common trait that rules your life. I would quote myself of me reminding you what it was that I said, but we both know how my previous reply went. Not at all an unusual pattern for one such as yourself. Troll the forum, get butt-hurt by a reply then cry foul to a Mod. Such is your modus operandi.

Methinks if you are going to troll the forum you should grow some thicker skin, or find a new line of work.

I asked if you had anything new to add, and so you bumped an 18 months old thread.

A good lesson for some countries to remember. And certain people in particular I might add. (Ahem) And in the grand scheme of things, 18 months is hardly a long time. Especially if one were to compare it to, oh, I don’t know, the actions of Nazi Germany back in the day.

And yes, this thread is very relevant in comparison to the more semi-newer one. It both shows and displays how you don’t have any firm opinion of your own. Your opinion changes with the wind, so long as it supports your current argument…at the moment. You change your opinions, thread titles and everything else you have to just to win a point. God help you if you had a pair and had an actual/real opinion/thought of your own.

I would say more, but you might show concern for my well being once again and have my post removed.

Oh, and on a side note, bragging about your 3 million fame Chivan account in this thread is not only weak, but in poor taste. Any newer player to the game can gain 3 million fame in a few short weeks. 3 million fame is squat and doesn’t remove the player from noob status, as it were. Like I said before, in poor taste, but dignity and self respect were never your strong points.

My opinion is and always has been:

HoG has great potential.
But it isn’t good or even playable the way it is now.
You would have to be insane to play it longer than a few weeks.
Europeans can’t play at all because the cap battles are in the middle of the night.
So after a few weeks and a few million fame I quit.

And by your own admission, this thread is 18 months old. And what does that mean Bart? That for the last 18 months you have haunted the forum of a game that you don’t play. 18 months Bart! The very game you call people crazy at the beginning of this thread for playing you-yourself continue to sit on the sidelines and spew that we are crazy, or that HOG should be banned from Kong, etc. You know what’s really crazy Bart…you!

So you want your hero to move to a certain position on the map? Sorry, dude, you can’t, you have to send him to spy some nearby castle and then stop him when he passes the point where you really wanted to go. And from there he can only go back home, sorry, he cannot change direction.
If an enemy should happen to pass by, well THEN your hero can attack, but that’s about it.

Oh, and in a battle your troops also can only attack or move backward, you cannot tell them to go to a certain point on the battlefield and wait there.

Also, even though the battles are the central element of the game, they all take place on the same battleground, which is basically an empty hall with no objects. You could just as well have no battlescreen at all – just compare the numbers and announce the winner.

This is just ridiculous, even for a flash game.

This game is not complete, and you people play it anyways – that is just insane.

BTW I am/was Chivan on Hydra. As of now, I am inactive. I am only telling you this so you can see that I am not some 50k-fame-dumbass – I am a played-for-months-and-has-3m-fame-dumbass.

We’re all nuts for playing this bad game, right Bart? You of course don’t play HOG and are the only normal one here, gotcha!
