[Desktop TD Pro] Tower Ideas

The title says it all; you only need to come up with ideas for towers. My first idea: Blast Tower, a tower that does 45-60 damage to creeps, but when fully upgraded, it does 100-170 damage. So if the tower came into the game DTDP (Desktop Tower Defence Pro) as an update, the tower would be very useful for easily killing creeps in-game if it was fully upgraded. My second idea: Laser Tower, dealing 60-90 damage to creeps and when fully upgraded it deals 95-180 damage. If that tower came into the game as an update, it would be more useful than the blast tower idea for easily killing creeps. Some of your ideas for towers will be weak (not the idea, the tower, if it goes into the game as an update) and some tower ideas will be strong (not the tower idea, the tower, if it came into the game as an update). Come up with towers! Think outside the box! Draw a picture of your tower idea! Finally, when you’re ready to share your tower idea with the forum all to do is post on the forum about your idea. Damage numbers aren’t interesting on their own – you haven’t really said anything…

But some ideas for TD towers, be it in this game or some other…

Execution tower: attacks slowly, but for large damage; if some multiple (2x, 3x, etc) of this damage would kill the creep, the creep dies. The multiplier grows with upgrades.

Concussion tower: attacks slowly for largish damage; each hit has a chance to bounce the creeps around as if they were exploding spawns. If it kills a spawn, the resulting new creeps are thrown so hard they can jump over a normally solid wall. Seems abusable by only letting creeps jump backward, but then again you can’t count on that.

Energy ball tower: rapidly attacks for large damage; the struck creep gains an energy shield around it that lasts for a short time protects it. Should be something you can turn off.

Mercenary tower: cheap to build and powerful, but costs money to activate for a period.

Weakening tower: creeps are permanently slowed by a fraction equal to the fraction of their total health that was removed by weakening towers (so if a third of a creep’s health was removed by weakening towers, it moves at two thirds speed)

Smoke tower: spreads smoke around itself. Creeps that spend more than a certain time in the smoke without a breath of fresh air take damage and are stunned for a while.

Node Towers- A node tower’s attack is speed 3 (about halfway between a squirt and a normal), and it does low damage. But when you have more than one touching, the damage of each is multiplied by the number of towers chained together. For example, if you had six of them together in a chain, they’d each do 6x the normal damage and together they’d do 36 times what a single tower could do, assuming they could all hit the creep. This would be a poor tower early on, but potentially the strongest if you could get enough of them chained up.

Corrosion Towers – A corrosion tower is similar to a frost tower, except that they lower the armor of an enemy instead of slowing it. A level one corrosion tower would cause all creeps it hits to take 2 extra damage from each shot for x amount of time. Higher level towers would cause creeps to take far more damage. These towers would be good to place next to either rapid firing towers or towers that hit many creeps at once.

Rail Towers – A rail tower shoots in a direct line towards the closest enemy. Regardless of how far that enemy is, the shot will continue in a straight line damaging every enemy in its path until it leaves the screen. These towers are useful at the ends of long, straight corridors.

Cannon tower- Shoots highly explozive bombs and at stage 4 shoots poison bombs that do 60 damage plus 3.3 more per second for 10 seconds. ATK SPD 4 ATK 67,90,100,476,10348. DMG DONE PER SHOT 683,777,1090,1882,2500,100564.

level 6:shoots tacks that go all the way until they hit an enemy(or go off screen), they do 50 damage and the tower fires the tacks at a rate of 8 ps as well as 6 at a time, plus the poison bombs and bombs.

My idea for a tower:

Rubber Tower: Hurls a giant rubber at the creeps. Extreme damage and splash, but is very expensive and has a very long reload time.

Cost: $150
Upgrades: $150, $190, $245, $290, $400
Damage: 150, 250, 325, 425, 550, 1000
Splash: 5mm diameter
Reload Speed: 60 seconds (45 at max level)
Range: 300

Flamethrower Tower: Shoots a continuous flame with low damage damaging all creeps that come in contact with the flame.

Gatling Tower: Fires very fast for small amounts of damage. Needs to be expensive but worth the cost..
Armageddon Tower: Fires electric bolts at a small area around the tower for massive amounts of damage. Fires slowly. Can target up to five creeps at once. No area of effect.
Boost Tower splits into the following:
Range Up Tower: No description required.
Damage Up Tower: No description required.
Rate of Fire (RoF) Up Tower: No description required.
