Ok. If Fallout was Elder Scrolls with guns, then it would have an active proficiency system, which it doesn’t. I admit, they have a large amount of similarities, but that is pretty much saying star wars is star trek with the “The Force.” Also, mistervector, you are a troll. The game is broken, I didn’t even mention all of the bugs when it first came out. The deathclaws are far over powered compared to the other ones. I could only take down a few with a 100 guns skill and a full condition sniper scope, with NCR veteran armor. So yeah, they’re over powered.

yeah they were made by black isle studios and interplay but the company got cancelled and bethdesa and also screw you

hey the bugs you can fix with patches ok and the deathclaw doesnt overpower it just that you need to cripple the legs to make it weak

On a more serious note, Mrtroll, you get to play Fallout how you want to play. If I am using a sniper with max gun skill, getting a head shot and a sneak attack critical, that should do massive damage. You play Fallout, playing how you want to play. If you are a sniper, there is no reason a death claw is neigh unkillable.

If I ever play this game, it sounds like I’ll need to take more strategic shots, rather than just going for an insta-kill.
Snipe a deathclaw’s arms and legs, then move in for the kill with a baseball bat? :D

Only ever played F3 and I loved it. First sandbox game I’ve ever had to carefully plan and use strategy in, which in turn made it a lot more fun then it probably was for most people. Awesome tunes in it as well! ;)

Can someone convince me to buy Fallout 3? I really want to but I cant find a reason why

If you want it and can buy it, go for it. What’s keeping you from doing it?

@Alita: Try F1 and F2. Graphics are poor for today, even poor for like 2005, but it’s fun. I still prefer the older RPGs…BG1+2, Morrowind, etc…

I’m playing it right now. Haven’t played much of the game (only 4-5 hours in) to give my 2 cents but the only thing I could say is it’s pretty fun if you like to explore.

favorite enemy: enclave, because of good loot. but i
also like caesar’s legion, because i think they’re a good choice for a villain.

favorite weapon: blade of the west/laser rifle with all mods.

favorite armor: armor of the 87th tribe/advanced riot gear

favorite companion: dogmeat

Fallout 1 and 2 were good.

Fallout 3 was a shitty half-assed attempt at a FPS/RPG blend that was glitchy as hell like all Bethesda games.

Fallout New Vegas was even worse.

Go with a scoped-magnum VATS build. The entire vats system in ridiculously overpowered.

Also, don’t worry about cranking the difficulty up. It’s one of those games where instead of adding variation and competent enemies, they just smap health increases to make things ‘harder’.
