Basically, my super awesome fabulous friend Renegade and I are making an idle game. Since idle games are for the community, we thought it would be best to ask the community what they would like!

The game is already in production, so no storyline or anything is needed… just suggestions on what type of stuff you like in idle games, what to avoid, what sort of mini-games to add, and so on. We have a casino, a few basic mini-games, and some other fun stuff I can’t tell you about :D

Any opinion is appreciated! :)

EDIT: The game is now released, and it has been doing pretty well. Suggestions are still welcome, and the game is being updated regularly. Suggest any ideas in this thread if you want!

Hats! You should make a hat store where you can upgrade your look throughout the game!

I Know what there can be! You can Fight in a Bar! :D (this can happen when you drink too much beers!!!!) there could be a House Shop , where you upgrade your house to a bigger and better one and purchase Decorations! (if the game haves cash….) Thanks for reading. ^^

I would like the idea of a player-owned home, that gives you the ability to collect little goodies to display :P

What is an idle game? Is that a game where you just …sit there?

Sorry. Idle Empires? Age of Idle? IdleRTS? _I wanna build an empire of pixel-sprites, and watch it expand and declare war on other empires. And fight. And possibly lose. And let me command troops or something.

EG: Idle, but tell the empire what to do while idling. Or something.

But then its not really idling when you do that.

I like the idea of a player house that you can decorate.

There are three possible ways to do this, so which one is better?

1: Unlock decorations based on time played; immediately give them to the player as a reward.
2: Unlock decorations based on time played; put them in the shop for the player to buy.
3: No locking of decorations; put them all in the shop from the start.

At the moment I think I prefer the second option, but if they didn’t do anything other than look nice, would you buy them?

Why not make it a mix, hrm?

If we make a mix I don’t think there’d be any reason to buy the stuff that cost money. You might as well just wait for the free stuff to unlock :p

I think it would work better as a mix, say, three cats. One for buying (like, maybe a few awards/decorations that are just symbols of wealth), one for time (holy shit I have a platinum clock!), and one for “secrets”, which you unlock from herp derping and doing certain things in the game.

Okay soooo. how about one thing just for time, probably a clock that gets nicer and nicer, and then everything else as nice upgradeable items around the room? With maybe a few of them initially locked, but fully upgradeable once you unlock them?

Idle games suck.

I mean, there are like 2000000 of them and they are all identical.

What should be in one to make it not suck?

actual gameplay.

No, sitting and watching something happen is not gameplay. This is the part where idle game makers mess up.

We have some minigames to play in our game. Is that sort of thing enough?

See. I don’t like just watching an idle game scroll aimlessly. I like telling it why it’s scrolling aimlessly. Say, I have a little town. That makes me gold. I use gold to make buildings. Buildings produce units/resources/ect with each fill of the bar. I use those to do more shit.

Idle Empires. Do it because I can’t.
