Coming updates on sites with UNSK on it currently:

1) All major bugs will be fixed.
2) Shop items such as glows + auras will now give your plane buffed stats. (Each glow or aura does something different) The prices will be high to have these benefits and will encourage players to play longer.

It’s basically a multiplayer version of SteamBirds?
Nice one.
How many players can each dogfight support?
Or is it purely 1v1?

Well SteamBirds and UNSK has similiar gaming styles but niallith was the first to made his game Multiplayer.

Or is it purely 1v1?

There are 3 game modes which are CTF, FFA and Assassination. For the CTF max players the game can have is 4 vs 4 and for the other 2 modes a max of 8 players.

Mochigames created a Uncharted Skies Strategy Guide on their blog yesterday.

Uncharted Skies Strategy Guide
November 15, 2011

It’s plane versus plane in Uncharted Skies, a multiplayer turn-based strategy game of combat! Similar to SteamBirds in style and control, Uncharted Skies takes the dogfight action to the multiplayer realm, allowing you to battle it out with other players in the icy blue skies. Grab your plane, outfit it with some special abilities, then give it your best shot in this game of intense aerial fighting!

Uncharted Skies Tips & Tricks

•Turn-based multiplayer strategy games can be tricky, as they force you to make serious decisions at a rapid pace. You’ve only got a moment or two to select your plane’s route and skill, so don’t second guess yourself!
•In general, picking an offensive or defensive strategy is a good way to go. Pick a plane that matches your playing style, then either circle the dogfights and pick off stragglers, or charge into the fray with guns and rockets blazing.
•Each skill takes a number of turns to recharge. Don’t use an ability unless you’re sure it’s going to connect!
•Hide in the clouds to avoid getting shot, but don’t fly through electrical storms. You’ll regret it!
•Use high maneuverability planes to surprise your opponents with 180 degree turns and quick flips.
•Don’t fire where your opponent is, fire where they will be. Try to guess which route a plane will take on its next turn and point your guns in that direction.
•Stealth can be your friend. It’s both great for surprising enemies as well as hiding from pushy foes.

Uncharted Skies Planes

Shocker – A great starter plane and the only one with a good armor rating, Shocker has a unique passive ability that electrocutes any enemies that pass by. Use this and the plane’s strong weapons to your advantage, as Shocker doesn’t have the best maneuverability or speed rating. Agility-increasing auras are a great help for this plane!

Tundra – The quickest plane around, Tundra suffers from low hit points but can outmaneuver anything else in the sky. Its weapons are relatively weak, but the ice bomb can slow down anyone on your tail and you can increase your defense for a few turns using another skill. Buy a nice life or armor aura to buff this plane up.

Blaze – Stronger than Tundra but not nearly as agile, Blaze makes up for its lack of speed with several great weapons that can attack both in front and behind your plane. There’s even a skill to increase your armor score and damage planes that cross your path!

Zero – Fast and stealthy, Zero is a great choice if you like to play it quiet, attacking when your opponents least expect it. Weak weapons but great maneuverability, use your stealth skills and area of effect ring to take other players by surprise.

Spitfire – The old classic, Spitfire is essentially an aerial tank. Armed with strong weapons and a fantastic set of armor, use this plane if you’re ready to do some serious one-on-one damage.

Zerk – Similar to Spitfire in design, Zerk sacrifices a bit of maneuverability in favor of better armor and more versatile weapons. Fire armor piercing bullets or rockets in front of yourself, drop bombs behind, or increase your armor for a few turns. Few people can mess with you in this beast.

WarHawk – A plane that’s great at just about everything, WarHawk tends to focus on one thing alone: lots of bullets. Its triple bullet skill fills the sky with shots, and the health skill recovers some of your lost hit points over the course of one turn.

Uncharted Skies Shop

Uncharted Skies works on an in-game coin system that allows you to earn bonuses for besting other players and sticking each round out through to the end. Gather these coins and take them to the shop between rounds to purchase upgrades that can give you a crucial advantage in the war-torn skies. Note that some upgrades are only available for certain planes.

Prefixes and Suffixes – You’ll get a few to choose from by playing the game normally, but if you like, you can drop a few coins to pick up some names with a bit more personality.

Auras and Glows – Both auras and glows represent passive abilities your plane possesses. Things like extra speed, regenerating hit points, extra life, bonus damage, etc. are always on, giving you that ability as long as you have that glow or aura equipped.

Uncharted Skies Maps and Modes

Three modes of play gives Uncharted Skies a lot of multiplayer combat variety. All the bases are covered, from team-based games to flying it solo. Either join an existing game or create your own, it’s up to you!

Assassination – The goal is simple: shoot down the target! The target plane changes each time the target is killed, so if you happen to be the lucky person to shoot down the target, guess what? You’re it now! Kill a target to earn ten points. If you happen to be a target and make a kill, you also get ten points. Targets also earn one point every round, and the first player to 100 points wins bonus gold and XP!

Capture the Flag (CTF) – A classic team vs. team battle, dogfight style! In the middle of the map is a flag. Grab it and fly it back to your base in the corner of the screen. The first team to capture three flags wins!

Free for All – Like the name says, this mode is a very basic “shoot everything you see” sort of game. Earn points for staying alive and shooting down as many planes as you can!

Before that happens we would have to make sure the game is as lag free as possible + fix a few bugs/glitches + majorally upgrade the server.
