As for my contribution – status inducing spells in most jrpg series ;)
Only useful on a few select bosses.

Staffs in Morrowind, just useless, knife in Resident evil 1 as well, takes ages to kill a normal zombie.

Needler in Halo 1. Low damage output, bad accuracy, bad homing. It’s simply outshined by every other weapon.

Not so. Throwing it or usign Goblin Punch with it equipped still deals the damage you’d expect from a weapon with that much attack power. (It’s just coded to deal 1 damage through normal attacks.)

Actually, if you hit an enemy 7 consecutive times with it, it explodes. I mean that, the needles explode.

Focus Energy in Pokemon gen 1.
It will either do absolutely nothing or reduce your critical hit rate to zero.

I would say fist, but in TES IV you can train the Unarmed skill to Oblivion. (No pun intended)
I would also say the Wrench in the Ratchet and Clank series, but
every weapon has its use, so you can’t judge them like that.

You say that, but if you upgrade it to the max, it becomes very powerful.
You can’t slag off weapons in the Ratchet and Clank series, because every tool
has its use.
I think I will go with the wrench in System Shock 1.
It’s the first weapon you find, and while it’s useful in the first level, obviously, it’s
use gets nullified when you obtain even the Dart Gun.

I’ve played skyrim before. The iron dagger was okay to be honest. Fast rate with the cost of low damage is fine.
