I think the Super Nintendo has some of the best RPG games to date.
For instance, Chrono Trigger is beautiful, and masterfully put together.
I guess.. What are your favorite SNES games?

In my experience, the RPGs are the only ones worth playing.
Earthbound, ofc.

EarthBound, Chrono Trigger, and Mario RPG are all really good, and I agree that SNES has the best RPGs. Final Fantasy 6 deserves a mention but it isn’t up with some of the others, in my opinion. Other than the RPGs, I liked the three Donkey Kong Country games a lot.
EDIT: Holy crap, how did I miss Super Metroid!?

Chrono trigger no contest. No other SNES game actually did it for me, but Chrono… oh wow, I love it. Even today I just like firing up the emulator and playing it a bit. It is one of the best RPG’s ever made imo.

You are forgetting the soul blazer sequel! Terranigma was the best, but there was also illussion of gaia and soulblazer, and robotrek… All RPG. Hmm, and form a different producer: star ocean, but it was very similar to tales of phantasia.

Yeah, the Super Nintendo had the best RPGs ever made; Earthbound, Final Fantasy VI, Dragon Quest V, Super Mario RPG, the Breath of Fire series, Ogre Battle, and the (subjectively) best one, Chrono Trigger.
And that’s without even taking into account the ones that never made it out of Japan! Tales of Phantasia, for example, was incredible.
But my own all-time favourite is Sword of Mana 2. It’s really a shame it never got released in Europe or in the US, because it’s as good as Chrono Trigger. It sported a multiple-choice storyline where could pick three characters out of a total of six, to make your team. Depending on who you took with you, and the choices you made during the game, the story changed completely every time. The gameplay was an original hybrid of action and rpg, with a system of quick casting and changing weapons. There was a job system that could level up two times, with two possible paths at each level up, making up a total of 4 different “final forms” for each of the 6 characters… This game was huge, and had an enormous replay value. There was also a day / night system, and a day of the week system, which influenced both magic strengths & weaknesses, but also NPC quests… This game was really, really good!
