Please don’t.
It’s a terrible series exactly on-par with Twilight; and making some half-assed game based on it would be a crime against humanity.

No, actually it’s a good book series. And the author of Twilight complimented on it.

Was a pretty good book, but making a game about it would be the stupidest thing ever. The layout of the book would just not work with a game

I actually think it would make a pretty decent roleplay/exploration game, as long as it isn’t totally focused on the same bigger themes of the book and just concentrates on the arena itself; maybe it could work a bit more like the Greed Island saga in Hunter x Hunter. Anyway I don’t expect any major company to sponsorize such a project since the fanbase of rpgs is quite different from the one of the books.

Since my favorite parts are before the arena, I just don’t think I’d enjoy a game entirely focused there.
Plus, there’d really only be about 15 enemies in the whole game, which would be weird

The first few minutes are a bit challenging, but then it starts to get pretty fun once you reach the river.

The series was average/good IMO. The first book shouldn’t exist, it should start at the 2nd book. It had some pretty cool events in there, but overall, I wouldn’t say it is crazy epic like some people claim it is.

I just wasted 15 seconds of my life (three times played until the very end of the “game”).

the hunger games was like a film hybrid of ‘battle royale’ and ‘the running man’
for example ask why there hasnt been a battle royale game?
and there wont be a hunger games game (that follows the film) for the same reasons.
the survival/ fun of the game would entirely depend on what you started with (in BR each person is given a random weapon) and in (THG they have to run to get one at the start) in both cases people who are too slow/ dont start with a good weapon would just ragequit, a few would still play for the challenge, but in the ‘modern game era’ with regenerating health and plenty of weapons/ ammo starting with a disadvantage would lead to people not wanting to play it.
in THG it would all fall down to who can run into the weapon stockpile and get the best weapon at the start, from there they will just chase after and kill everyone else, in the game there is no need for survival tactics as its just a game and people dont want to play a game for days on end just to try and outwit someone with a better weapon.
they could avoid this by having the start locations dotted around the map…. but then it would just be like any other game of its kind…
there are more reasons but i cant be bothered to discuss them

As much as I would want a Hunger Games videogame, the way the story is built is really meant for novels or cinema. A game would have too many imbalances.

THE AUTHOR OF TWILIGHT DOESN’T KNOW ABOUT LITERATURE! IDIOT!
Sorry, got a bit stressed there.
I think mr KingPrankStar was wanting a proper “official” hunger games game rather than minecraft versions of it and versions of it embedded in other games. I don’t really see the point, it’d probably be rather bad. Games from movies almost always are. Also, you’re better off making your request somewhere that isn’t here, preferably a game development forum of sorts.

Well, since this is bumped now…. I finally watched the movie (Parents rented it, figured why the hell not)
It did NOT live up to the hype, that was to be expected though. It was worse than I expected it to be though, still.
