Well to be more specific neverbot, now rof abusing and cap spam is new meta. Preferred strat of many top players, especially Norakta, is rof/ freeze trident followed by cloak engine hades and rof tyrant, supplemented by yards. Repeat and ensure opponents cannot keep up through use of 4 reacfor and rof rof rof miner, exhumer. It devolves into a build/ economy match.
Boring but effective, versatile. Since only best mod ships work for this, non- grinders are punished heavily.
IMO this is worse than old meta. You need not only good cap but also best miner, and best everything. While majority of average players are now more equal, top players with all mods are now unbeatable.

So, I’m creating a ROF/DPS page on OE3 wiki to record the actual rof/dps of all ships and turrets, since cwwallis is so wrong. Since I’m busy, it would be nice if anybody contributed and corrected/ added to my page. Yeah I know theres already a frame and frameglitching page but I thought it would be better to have a simple DPS page to clear up misconceptions.
I would specifically like to enlist FateisEscaped’s help because he
1. Pioneered Rof/ Frame discovery testing and
2. Has an all blanks alt (only blank rof for simplicity, rof mods can go to frameglitching page).
Anyone else who has a sizable collection of no-rof, untested units and who knows how to test is also encouraged to help.

Apologies to anyone who saw my ROF chat log today (about when the daily bonus was refreshed), I messed up. So I was in 20 energy per second but I forgot to divide by 2 a couple times….
Units affected were
Mantis: 3 frame, not 6 frame
HH: 5, not 10frame
Scorpion: 14 and 21fame, not 24 and 42 frame

My favorite pvp tactics are:
1) rof rof emp trident + freeze shield archangel + glads and rof rof shieldA spectres + 3 heatsinks and 1 cannon mod.
The trident and outer spectre cannons glitch to 1/frame, giving the spectres 120 dps each, great for crushing phalanxes and ships very fast.
2) rof rof emp trident (probably my favorite ship) + rof shield pbay hammerhead(wish it was rof rof) + glads and rapiers(for countering ny rush carriers) + 1 base shield and 3 heatsinks.
The hammerhead has range and damage, but the trident overruns phalanxes and kills glads with the rapiers, and the base shield protects from freeze rushes(usually).
This strategy is basically made to be decent in battles, but easily counter ny freeze saph corv rushes

well, range range phalanx plus 4 primers detonates nuke outside the blast radius, saving the turret and everything behind it
nukes just got turtleable.

Anyway cool strat if not a bit boring. (rof spam)
I remember fighting you with cata/ Goliath, your strat was too slow. I got a better cata now (rof range pbay) and with my rof hawk jupe plus 3 missile docs I bet I could win lol.
Did you know rof 3 docs cata has 496 dps, close to frameglitch trident.

Just writing this down somewhere…
- A shield B blaster (42 shield points) took 53 hits from a freeze blaster before the shield was overcome.
- The same shield B blaster took 63 hits from a freeze blaster with 4x armor techs equipped.
_Armor tech appears to affect shield strength._
Can anyone confirm these results?

I’m fairly sure total shield is based off of armor, higher armor higher shield. Same if your unit has 15% armor and shield mod it will have higher shield than the same without armor mod.

TURRETS:Lasercannon , Autocaster
AUXILIARIES: barricade, Processor
FIGHTERS: Miners, Sapphier
MED: Odyssey, Tremor
CAP: Arch angel
TECHS: Force Round Tech.(Emp is too strong vs area shields, only thing that protect from BH)
BUILD SEQUENCE: Sapphier\>Tremor\>Odyssey\>AA
Yes it can be called Carrier fraction (C-fraction) & yes it can be very strong, but it very slow, to generate lot of energy u need a lot of time.
What u thiking abaut it?

this faction would need carrier racks, sapp hangar and sd for really troll faction (add plasma mastery). Otherwise good, I think will be balanced. Waves of NY goodness pls (maybe disable spawn nerf on this faction’s ny for more fun?)

120 dps with cannon mod, (4+4)\*10+8\*5 = 120 dps

I have a new idea for a faction, the black faction. These tough little guys are focused on black hole technology. They would be put in the normal mix of factions.
SHIPS:
sapphire and miners for the fighter class.
They will need a lot of metal for their ships and buildings.
hades and exhumers for the medium class ships.
Again, they need metal for structures and they focus on black hole technology.
Archangel for the cap.
This would be a great match for their techs.
TURRETS:
they would use plasma auto caster and void lance for defense.
AUXILIARIES:
tactical shield and processor.
TECHS:
dark mastery, plasma mastery, expansion, and supplies.
This is only an idea that many of the people I chatted with thought was a good idea. Feel free to scold me or change a few things. I would like to eventually see this in an update.

Yeah that a intresting, that have some problems w/ fighter spam & tact. shielded fractions, maybe w/ long ranged units, but it should be; still can’t undertend why plasma mastery, what for? for only autocaster? That illogically.

Self-limiting match: Self-limiting match is a match with limiters on the available equipment to balance out overpowered strategies.
You can use 3 ammunition types, Ammunition types are as follows: Artillery, Black Holes, Bullets/Boomerangs, Lasers,
Mining Beams (Extractor doesn’t count), Missiles/Bombs, Nukes, Phalanxes, Plasma/Mines/Self Destruct, and Repair.
For economy, you can use either Miners, (Exhumers don’t count as Miners) or Generators, but NOT both.
In-game you must build all three of your fighters (if you do not have three with you, at least build three bays of fighters) before progressing to mediums, and you must build all three mediums, (same as fighters if you don’t have three) before building turrets and capitals.
P.S. only tech restriction is that you cannot use basecannon tech if you haven’t chosen bullets as one of your ammo types.

Tested the targeting of SD Engineer with plasma mastery.
When destroyed, the SD of the engineer targets the friendly injured unit it was trying to heal, unless there are no friendly injured units to be targeted, then the SD will target the nearest enemy.
