I think the game was quite a bit hard, but fun!

The game was too easy. After a while your power just ballooned and you were unstoppable.

You should add loads of new soldiers, like at least 10 more, because a hardly finish the game and ive literally got everything, and armoured samaries, add zombies, and demons ,add kings, emporors, berserkers, paladins stuff like that :P and add upgrades so you can make a samuri stronger then a giant and it should cost the same price.

We have been getting great ideas about a sequel for our game, the great war of prefectures. However, there are too many comments on the game page and it is starting to become a little too overwhelming to track them.
So far our game is getting a high rating (we sincerely thank you all for this), and if this continues, we should be motivated enough to actually go through with the sequel.
If anyone has ideas, please let us know here!
Hi pretty much gfx.. the gameplay was solid even if a bit difficult sometime..
i think a better gfx would increase the players.. other than that dunno what to say since as i said your game was-is still good.
Something like this style..

or something like this..

pixel magic btw..

I’ve been playing the game since it came out, and then I wondered if there was a second one. I then googled it, to find that people have been discussing it for three years. SO, I will add my opinion.
The map the gods, and the A.I
He wants’ things simple, so why not make one about Greece, still keeping with the swords and bows, still use the old graphics as-well, just a different map, perhaps a little more aggressive A.I that a certain amount of nearby nations will gang up on you if you get very powerful just to keep the game hard. Then keep the research labs and might as well still use the Greek gods like in the old game.
Economy
As one person mentioned earlier, money can eventually be useless. So to counter that, every turn have a 30% chance of a market collapse, which would make your income 0 for that turn, and take away 60% of your current money. (Pretty harsh, right?) On the bright side this could happen to other people too. :D
Selecting different locations and recruiting
So make it that when you click a location, THEN it gives you the tab list like before, then when you click a soldier, above it 2 windows pop up, normal version of that one, then heavy. So say you select a hoplite, then the normal and heavy version of the hoplite shows up above that one you clicked. But if you select hoplite when you’re recruiting from Sparta, 3 little windows pop up above the picture of the Hoplite, Hoplite, Heavy, Then “Spartan”. Spartan, let’s say, would be 4 times the cost as a normal, but then 2x better than normal Hoplites, while Heavies are 3 times cost and only 1.5x better. (Better as in more hit points, attack, and defense, all of them do the same strike speed) Those units would be called:
“Elite units”
Finishing touches
Along with all that one or two more things would be nice. Just like before, when mysterious organisms showed up, replace them with Persians. Add one VERY cheap but VERY useless unit, the Militia. Just so in the case where you’ve been left with such little money, you can still put up a small fight for your land. Give soldiers a 20% chance of missing their target, lowers between Normal, heavy, to elite unit type. (20% for normal, 15% for heavy, 10% for elite.) But for ranged units, it’s increased by 10 or 5%. (30% for normal, 25% for heavy and 20% for elite.)
Increase the unit limit per territory to 30 or so. Give the smiley soldiers accessories maybe? (Militia with cowboy hat, Spartan with those cool helmets, Persians wearing small rag hats, ect.) Different looking hat types for each one, like a Hoplite would have a metal cap, then a heavy would have a full helmet, and the Spartans would have those really cool ones they wear.
This wouldn’t make the game TOO complicated but still keep it VERY fun and hard.
Oh, last thing, GREAT GAME! And no need to change the in-battle mechanics, they’re fine.

In my opinion, the prefectures should be moved to another country, like Greece, or France, maybe even the Holy Roman empire. Also, increase the army size, and maybe give us the option of watching the AI battle so we know what to expect if the other country is bigger and stronger then you, so you can learn the AI tactics. That’s my opinion. :/
Also, great game. Most likely played it around 30 times.

I think you should include China as a 2nd boss in sequel. Sun Tzu could be another boss…

Hi,
in order to best understand the reasoning behind my idea’s for improvement, it might be helpful to read how i played through my first game.
i knew nothing about the game before i played. i read through the instructions and then started. I Started at Aomori. i chose the green giant and built 5 archers. (NOTE: i originaly though the Giants were spawned after 15 days of HOLDING THAT TERRITORY, so i was eager to start the count down as quickly as possible). I captured Hokkaido on turn two with 5 archers and 3 skeletons. 0 losses. i chose the green giant. i put a extra gladiator on Aomori. turn 3 i attacked from Aomori and moved my troops from Hokkaido to Aomori. then i progressed down the map until turn 15. i never had more than 4 of my territories bordering the AI, and all territories bordering AI were well defended. i always chose green giant. on turn 15 i made 13 green giants. then i progressed down until i had 3 squads of giants (4,4,and 5) backed by archers. i continued only placing green giants. on turn 30 i had recombined my armies on Oita. then over the next 3 turns i placed 4 soldier lvl buildings over my next few territories and grouped my green giants in the center. for fun, i started to fill the map from top bottom with squads of 15 samurai and 10 snipers until i was broke. i also replaced my archers with snipers. turn 34 i captured nagasaki with 13 giants and 12 snipers. the ??? apeared and attacked all 3 locations. 2 of these locations had the samurai/sniper combo and the other had my 13 giants and 12 snipers. i didn’t lose any of the loctions, although i did lose most of my troops at Ishikawa and Hokkaido. luckly, my armys of green giants i had been building were right there and i moved one in Ishikawa. i also moved samurai/snipers from Aomori to Hokkaido. i then launched a counter offensive and was done with the came by turn 36. never lost a battle
1) better strategies: since my first play through i have gone back and unlocked and used the rest of the strategies, none of them are worth losing a green giant or 2 for. attack power up is still one of the most effective for normal troops and i would never use anything other than speed with a green giant in my army. the final one is good, but only at the end of a battle to get green giants back as they cannot be bought. however, the green giant losses could be eliminated in the first place by using the speed to take out enemies ranged troops first.
2) more agressive AI vs AI. let me explain. while i was able to quickly move across the game without much to stop me, in general the AI made smart decisions to not attack me (or other AI if i was bordering them). the AI didn’t attack if it could not secure its borders from me and other AI after the attack. however, i think the AI could do a better job of building empires. i started in the top of the map, leaving the lowest 1/3 untouched for most of the game. however, the AI failed to solidify it into 1 empire. after plating through multiple times, i seem the problem is the AI allows itself to build empires in which many of their territories border other territories, resulting in the current ruling AI being forced to spread it troops too thin and being taken over by another AI. i never had more than 4 territories exposed, but i have seen AIs with as many as 6 out of 7 of theirs.
3) more balanced starting points. the top of the map is too easily defensible. it is too easy when you can start with only one or two borders. i want to start anywhere and have a chance, but i always get pushed into the top or bottom of the map before i can start growing my empire. maybe better natural abilities in less defensible territories? (for both player and AI). mabey a feature where for a small fee per troop * distance traveled, coastal territories can attack (or be attacked by) ANY other coastal territory. this would force players to leave troops in more territories. an alternative to this is have random uprisings in any territory you own, where randomized troops of the original nation would battle your current troops.
4) better buildings. nothing even comes close to being as worth while as the giants. also, i have never seen an AI pick the green giant buildings.
5)smarter enemy combat. have enemy melee troops rush my ranged troops and take them out before going back to deal with my melee troops. don’t have them just crowd my giants while my archers take them out.
6)mechanics suck. sorry, but i just don’t see any worthwhile use for them. whenever enemies have them i just laugh because they are so easily defeated. the either need a large price reduction and health boost, much better buildings to work in combination with, or a new ability such as being able to MAKE something like a tank every few seconds. or combine them with the medic which is also a bit weak for an all around support type.
7) a unique type such as a warlord. it does not count as one of you 25 spots, it can’t attack, it can move more that once per turn, any territory with it has much better defense (troops get 150% health or Strategies are more as effective or something). you only get one ever and AIs get one too. if you lose the territory it is in, you skip your next turn or lose the game or something. it doesn’t have to be a powerful troop itself (just a little better than a gladiator?) or doesn’t have to be a troop at all, just a movable icon that gives the territory it is on the boosts but is not movable/attack-able at the battle
8) partially hidden enemy troops. 50% of enemy troops appear as a “?” or something in the map view mode.
9)AI temporary alliances. after conquering 1/2 the map, i am by far the biggest threat. coordinated AI attacks from all territories neighboring 1 of mine will allow the other nations to be able to push me back and lose battles. in other words, multiple nations use a strategy similar to the strategy the player can use to defeat the ? boss by launching attacks one at a time from each of the 3 islands new islands to kill off some ? troops with the first and second attacks and win the 3rd attack when it is 25 (player) vs 10 (???)
overall- great game, just need to reduce the power of one or two aspects (giants and OP starting positions) or increase the power level of all the other aspects. also you need to work on a more difficult AI (randomly start some nations with more than 1 territory?)
