Anyway, Halo 3’s ending was… not sad, perse, but emotional.
I remember an ending that just about brought tears to my eyes, but I can’t remember any details other than that. :/
Yeah, I agree. At first you feel sad until you find out something after the credits, not going to spoil it. :)

CoD4? Halo 3? Do you people actually play video games?
Ico.
Shadow of the Colossus.
Baldur’s Gate II.
And the grandmommy of them all:
Super Metroid.

GTA: San Andreas (Yeah, I know, not exactly known for its story) was sad for me, but predictability stopped it from being the saddest.
COD: WaW was really sad and suprising for me. It didn’t feel “epic” enough.
My favourite was the Vanilla FO3 eding. Most people hated it since it ended an open RPG, but you can’t say it wasn’t awesome. Better dead, than red!
The DLC ending felt incomplete.
The new ending was a screwed up first mission (WHY!?), one-man army last mission (felt really unrealistic) and a “go do whatever you were doing” end.
Sorry if you don’t get most of this, but I don’t want to spoil anything.
And Carados, not everyone plays old games =P

Guess what? Every game on that list is better then CoD:WaW and GTA:SA, and most of them are better then Fallout 3. Broaden your horizons.

It all depends on your opinion of which game is better. For other people it is different.

That’s opinionated.
I, for one, am not a big fan of older games. I like the newer ones. There are some exceptions, but meh.

Mafia had a sad ending. One little slip and it all comes down.

I lol’d. But anyways, I think that mostly all CoD games are sad at the end, because you have feelings for the characters.

Sad endings, sad endings… while I, too, am laughing hysterically at all the OMG HALO 3 R SO SAD, there are a FEW newer games with sad endings (Ie Crisis Core), though the plot itself was older and while I knew what the end was going to be having played FF7, it still made me cry. Yeah, I’m a softie, I admit it.
Ico isn’t really a sad game; it SEEMS like it’s going to be sad, but then it isn’t, so it all works out in the end. Shadow of the Collosus, however, was a sad ending. I felt so gd bad for him.
I don’t know if anyone’s played super fire pro wrestling (I certainly never did, I admit it) but apparently its ending was insane. I’ll write a *bold*spoiler*bold alert NOW, but I doubt anyone will ever play this.
The guy, your character, gets dumped the match before the last, fights his friend in the finals, watches as his american trainer is killed in front of him, and then when you win the match he decides it was a hollow victory given all the other fucked up shit that happened. The last scene is him in his mansion, and it just shows the outside of the mansion after showing him looking depressed; a single gun shot is then heard.
Yeah. The main kills himself off as the last scene. Fun times.

This is also not an ice cream festival.
Let’s share other ideas that aren’t relevant to this thread!
