Hi guys, welcome to the discussion on the worst FF game
I am going to cut to the chase, in my opinion the two worst final fantasy games are final fantasy II and X. II had truly woeful gameplay and leveling, not to mention the story. And X had so much potential but fell in to bland, generic characters, linear world maps, a bucket load of angst, lightning and butterflys.
But my opinion does not matter, its yours I am interested in.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates for the DS.
Don’t get it. Trust me, just skip it. Pretend it doesn’t exist.

That sounds about right.
Others that come to mind are X, X-2, XII, and XI — I can’t wait to see the next online one, XIV, fall into the same problems. :/
The old ones were truly the great ones. The best gameplay, the best stories. . . The only exception I’d make is IX, but then again, I’m biased — I played that one through about 3 times before I put it down. I loved that one.

Final Fantasy 10 had the worst final boss I have ever encountered. It ruined the entire game for me.

I have to say Final Fantasy II. I hated the leveling system and never quite understood the storyline, and getting a new 4th party member every 10 minutes because the old one just died was just annoying.

Mine would be VII, XI, and X. In my opinion, II wasn’t really THAT bad in my opinion, but it certainly wasn’t a great game.

The DS version of four was awful. Reasons:
-NON-customizable final party
-augment system
-Stupidly increased difficulty
-augment system
-reduced special features from the GBA one. I.e. secret dungeons
-augment system
-Whyt

FF-IV had a nice storyline, gameplay, great game all around but the price of a good game is being thrusted into a nearly impossible battle every two seconds. Seriously, the longest time between battles i ever had was about five seconds. But its coming out for ds pretty soon maybe they might redo some stuff, and if they do then it will truly be the best. FF-V was absoulutely horrible. And all the ones for the ps2 and what not are stupid. For the most part i would stay away from FF-V. If you want a great rpg similar to FF, get a game called Golden Sun (greatest game ever made for gameboy and its coming out for the DS.

The worst final boss I have ever encountered it has to be The Emperor from Final Fantasy II. On top of everything, The Emperor is way too easy, check this out: this is a trick I have found out and so can you without the help of anyone’s advice or a guide. When you begin fighting Emperor, you start using lvl 4/5 Berserk on all your party members; using it at least four times. Use Haste on all your party memebers at least once, so you can attack a lot more faster. Naturally, you wanted to use this as its one of the most effective spells in the entire game, since it makes your character(s)’ attack power go higher and attack faster. But using it against The Emperor, it simply makes him impossible to hit and knock out one of your party members. The second you throw the crap out of him, you’ve already one. I mean why its so easy; did the game designers test out that crappy game before they even released it? I’m really disappointed on how this challenge factor in FFII has to be. I did the same thing for Soul of Rebirth on GBA version. He’s one of the easiest final bosses I have ever heard, much like Dracula in Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest.

I thought V was amazing. I loved that there was a real class system, where you can change your character’s job when you wanted to. Then again, it might have been the similarity to Tactic’s job system that did it for me, Tactics being my first Final Fantasy game, which I spent hours upon hours (upon hours) playing.
I agree on the part about Golden Sun, it was a great game. I didn’t know they were making a DS game, I’ll have to keep my eye out for that.
