Epic War 4

This topic is for discussing what we’d like to see in Epic War 4
I’d like to see some possible multiplayer games, a slower leveling system (like the one in Gemcraft), the ability to use the hero in the tower like EW1 and 2 and out of it like EW3, and the ability to unlock new units by gaining levels and using upgrade points.

If there’s going to be an Epic War 4, it’s going to be changed again. Too bad, I actually liked the way Epic War 1 and 2 worked.

I agree, but I also like some of the elements in EW3 as well

I see epic war sequels as improvements and different gameplay experience to epic war prequels, so I’d like to see something that suits EW1, 2, and 3 lovers

I just finished playing through a single campaign in EW3, and it was amazing. I miss the storyline though, even if it was pretty terrible. I prefer EW1 and EW2’s style then EW3’s. I want my arrow tower back. :D

I’d love to see a fourth game in the series, but this time Rudy really needs to work with a proofreader!

true, there ARE a few bugs and typos in every game, and the options menu needs to be accessable on the map screen this time if there is one…

I would like to see it get a different name if they are going to make it a different game.

Get rid of the player phase and enemy phase.

Consider balance issues on new game plus. I could just run up to the enemies castle and destroy it for everything except the last two castles when I started playing through with different characters.

The whole card thing just seemed silly. What was the point? It was functionally exactly the same as previous incarnations, unlocking units as you got to higher levels, you just had to switch to a different screen to make upgrades. More work to do the same thing is generally not an improvement.

Thank you for adding the forward and retreat buttons. Keep those, they were good ideas.

There just isn’t that much game space to explore in this genre unless you can find a new game mechanic, and those are hard to find.

I don’t think we need an Epic War 4, just incorporate the best aspects of the three games and give us a single Epic War and get rid of the others. Let us just consider the first three your playtesting and forget that they exist and give us the one good game.

I’d say a storyline.

Gameplay would be nice.

EW3 is the first hint the EW series could be salvaged into a really good game. Now if only Rudy outsourced the balancing and redesign of the core game rules to someone with some innovation where it really counts the game might become deep and challenging enough to hold more than superficial appeal and take gameplay beyond an early discovery of the transparent basic winning strategies then rinsing the hell out of them for the rest of the game.

Lots of talent getting wasted on beautifully fleshing out a series of essentially shite games makes me baww.

Agreed,i liked EW 1 and 2 way too much.And EW 3 its just nice.But i still want the arrow tower again :P

I think the card system can be improved on by altering the AI. As it stands now the AI seems to use the same sort of balanced ( Fodder + Heavy Melee + Caster + Super Unit ) strategy. This could be made better by mixing it up a little and making the AI choose different card combinations. So one computer may decide to use ( Fodder + Caster + Caster + Caster ) , or (Heavy Melee + Heavy Melee + Caster + Caster), ect…

If different computers attack with different strategies and some units counter other units it would enhance the card system because the player would have to think about which cards to use to win. The only time I really needed to change my strategy in epic war 3 was for challenge #5.

The only other fault I can think of is that super units seem to be too weak in Epic War 3. Even when you get the super unit cards to rank 5, you are stronger if you simply don’t use them at all. I use the titans for fun, but they don’t seem like something to be feared anymore.

Actually, it’s not so much that the super units are weak, it’s that they’re summoned so slow. By the time you summon a super unit you could have already won with a different build, hence they become kind of pointless.

no more impossible bosses like the super goblin at least the first and 2nd ones bosses were kill able

i think you should make epic war 4 and have the qaulitys of all the games like upgrade the biuldings upgrade players

First honestly, i like the newer version but if there gonna be Epicwar 4, they should make it you can choose between the two style of fighting.
second, it’ll probably be awhile before the new epic war will be out.

epic war 4 should be like the first two a bit with a spell that made ur units run faster,also like epic war 1 u dont upgrade in battle just at the end of every1

100x speed mode.
