I want to get it, preferably as soon as possible, so as to maximize the points I can get from the event.
Does anybody have a simple or effective team build or general guide to beating it?
Suggestions welcome.

Become a mage and be a healer. Take the other mage and the warrior as sidekicks. Don’t use any potions/buy items (but you can, to make it easier on yourself). Heal a character when it gets a bit too low on hit points, and you’ll never lose too much mana (I didn’t even use any of the fields or the tavern up until where I got to the three ogres to make it certain I’ll win them). You only have to get the mind blast or something to stunlock alphas and ogres, but for the alphas it isn’t really necessary.

I used a dwarf warrior and focused heavily on defense: using the shield cover skill as the core of the attack. I recruited Martine and Ardum instead of the bard and Ardum because I found the bard to lack effective combat skill. I channelled through the first few fights, using my level up skills from Flooded on the shield skills, with Ardum I used it on the telekinesis skills and with Martine I used them on the first set of skills, the combat skills. Buying potions was quite a big thing, but the main thing to do to ensure that you win flawlessly is to change weapons whenever you can and do not sell them. Selling weapons is really ineffective in the long run, and when making a decision between two weapons, ask in chat or use your gaming knowledge. When actually fighting remember to send Martine and Flooded forward, attacking weaker enemies first, (or in some cases the nearest enemy) to ensure that you minimise the damage taken later on. Use Ardum to stun and blast the enemy, while healing and reviving your team. The mind block spell is very useful when you want to heal up a character without letting the enemy kill it in the next turn. (This requires healing salves!) With the ogres, make sure you hit them with the telekinesis push spell; using Martine and Flooded to mop up the other enemies. Heal when necessary and don’t leave it to chance. Gl! :)

I used a human knight with points allocated in the dual weapon category. I used Ardum mainly for healing and damage buff. I used Martine with points in two-handed weapon talents. It worked out well.

made an elf mage. Dont use the bard, use the warrior and Ardum
When destroying the machines, kill the ogre with your warrior and have Ardum heal her when health is less than 50%
