When you finish the desert patrol campaign, don’t quote me on this, it says “He will make it flourish but that is another story”. so I think there will be a sequel.

I think mabye
1. build weapons , cars, shops, armors and more.
2. Mabye u start with age 10 to 80
3. Able to get levels(Get strenght , agility and more ) Strenght for throwing granates,molotows,knifes more better :agility for speed and faster throw,shoot and more.
4. More stuff in shops and in factory able to make weapons and upgrades for equipment

Caravaneer is my favorite online game. Ever. I’m sorely disappointed that a 2nd isn’t bound to come out anytime soon. Some other good ideas for a sequel would be:
1. Multiple characters that have specific story lines and goals
2. Customizable characters
3. Upgradeable weapons, vehicles, etc.
4. A sign in every time that showed every city and the prices of goods in each city (similar to frontier in that when you scroll over a city you can view the economy and goods prices)
5. Again I will stress the upgradeable weapons and vehicles. This makes a good game even better no matter what.
6. The battle method was great in the 1st. Maybe more terrain advantages like t209 suggested?
7. A more diverse selection of goods to trade with.
8. More in-depth storyline and more characters to talk with.

For what it’s worth I would love to see a sequel. Caravaneer is definitely my favorite flash game I have found on Kongregate. Gonna go load it up now because I just realized I never favorited it .

I’m just going to point out what the maker of the game has to say about Caravaneer 2

“Hey people! Sorry for not answering for so long… I know that you all want to see Caravaneer 2 released. Me too. Caravaneer 2 is included in my long term plans, but I just can’t tell how long it’s going to take. I’m going to have little time for game development during the next 3 years, so the things will go slowly. Besides, there are a couple of things to do before starting Caravaneer 2. One of them is to make a new site that will be more appropriate for Caravaneer than Sugar-Free-Games. This is already half-done. Then I’ll probably make a couple of little games to promote the new site and only then will start working on Caravaneer 2 seriously. It may take a lot of time. I’ve no idea how much. Sorry for making you wait for so long…”

Here are my suggestions:
1. A Desert Patrol and Government Agent Campaign. Play as either a Desert Patrol or Government Agent and do missions while increasing the rank and climbing the political ladder.
2. Bandit mode. Start at a Bandit Town and gather refugees and corrupted policemen to form your bandit band. Ally with other Bandit Bands to be more effective at raiding and robbing.
3. In-Town crime. Get robbed, mugged or ambushed in town. No place is safe anymore.
4. Town State. Get informed if a town has been taken over by bandits, turned rebel, joined the Desert Patrol or allied with the Government in a more effective and easy-to-read page.
5. Town Siege. Join the siege of a town by bandits and robbers or defend the town to control resources.
6. A minimap during battle mode, a more attractive map and zooming feature for battles. So that we don’t have to scroll everywhere to find the enemy.
7. More weapons slots.
8. Creating resources. Like finding oil or growing grass. Will be colonized by someone else
9. Settling. Settle in a town and form a town militia, become the mayor, improve town economy and expand the town. When you’re large enough, play the politics table and either uproot corruption or enforce it to your ends.
10. More market products.
11. Guarded trade routes at a fee. Usually very populated.
12. More stats.
13. Mouse-over features like caravan state, character stats and health, town economy, etc. etc.
14. New Victory picture. This one looks odd.
15. More exciting battles? God they’re boring…
16. Planting crops.
17. Creating a mini-faction. Like town militia or bandit gang.
18. Buying and selling properties. Use buildings to start very small business or as a headquarters for bandits or policemen.
19. Temporary Mercenaries or sell yourself as a mercenary.
20. Pick up skills. Help out at the mechanic to gain and improve the skill Mechanics or whatever.
21. Upgradeable weapons. But not too much though. Just a couple of tweaks and meshing here and there.
22. Talking to random characters. Pick up mini quests or run errands.

Things that I disagree on implementing:
1. Starting a business.
2. Starting Towns
3. Create Weapons factories. I think weapons factories should be implemented but not creating them.
4. Online play. Makes the game too lag.
5. Heavy vehicles
6. Other jobs. That would be contradicting the name of the game.

PS. Sugar Free Games is working on Caravaneer 2:
“It seems like you guys want me to make a new Fallout, but with 10 times more features :) I just want to warn you that I’m only one person with very very low budget, so it’s not going to be something like this… I’ll certainly use some of the ideas, but not all of them… Anyway, thanks a lot for posting them here…

The good news is that starting from now, I’m going to have much more time to dedicate to game making, so it’s quite possible that Caravanner 2 will not take as long as I thought it would. Anyway, the serious production stage is not even started yet. I think that it may begin in a couple of months from now, and then god knows how long it will take. Maybe up to a year or so. It depends on how complex the game will be.

Caravaneer is my favorite game on Kong. I do hope and pray that there is eventually a Caravaneer 2.

There are some really good suggestions in this thread. Personally, I thought the early portion of caravaneer was best. Where you are hauling good between the first cities on your donkey or whatever and fighting off robbers and such. Once you get the vehicles and all upgraded weapons, the game falls apart. It becomes way too easy. I like the struggle.

In Caravaneer 2, everything should be more scarce. One thing that bothers me about the game was how in a post apocalyptic future, there are copious amount of brand new Hummers, Jeeps, ATVs, state of the art weapons, and massive amounts of ammo readily available. In the new caravaneer, getting a new (old) gun should be a joyous event. It should be much harder to earn money. The profit margins were much too high. There should just be less of everything is what I’m trying to say and worn down and maybe even have to build things by collecting different parts or fix a gun before you can use it.

need to be able to organize LIST—-any list from ur army(ie. list organized by str, who atk first,day left until payday, and sniper)to ur inventory thats one of the major problem i have. it gets annoying to search for stuff. could include tanks (i meant a walls not literally a tank) so that rockets wont be OP-ed because right now when ever u shoot the cars people behind the car dies right away (donno if this is true for hummers in caravaneer 1) able to target cars so people adjacent to the cars can get hit (if u plan on using the explosion to kill) better graphics during battle? oh yes make sure during battle mode that everything is visible (some time cars disappear but it still blocks ur way which ruins the order of target). (uniform option that way u can split the army into groups (clothing weight .5kg, has its own slot, and only benefit is color or implement color vest that show up during battle scene)

Whether or not the creator from Sugarfreegames looks here for Ideas or already has these I don’t care but here are my ideas.
1) More diverse and intricate charactor creation such as basic hair, clothes and looks options.
2) Traits and abilities to pick from (3 different traits/abilities out of like 20-30 or something.) these traits can go from a silver tounge to make more money to an eagle eye for more effective shooting at long ranges.
3) Intercity jobs for when you run out of money and sales material. When low level or small city jobs like pen cleaning and other crap jobs. And when in large capital cities protection services (must have a decent gun and ammo supply) and some decent jobs for a larger pay.
4) City security organizations, Much like Desert Patrol and the Police the smaller cities have similar groups to protect, they will travel regularly so that you can be protected near cities (have groups of cities in tight packs but some groups being far off) They can also be called in (depending on organization, location, and whether or not you have boughten a radio.)
5) The ability to make camps to be safe for a night and with the appropriate material drill for water, hunt (just really need a gun and bullets), and even rarely being offered money from other caravans to sleep in your camp.
6) Ability to buy, create, and operate busineses in cities, say that I go to a frontier town (small farming town) buying/building a business such as a butchery to produce food (simple and reletivly inexpensive business with little profit) or even drilling and occasionally finding oil and creating a drilling company (lots of expenses at first with a large profit warning after so long it can run dry you need to hire employees and visit the building itself to check on reports to decide what happens. You can also sell the businesses at its peak to make a good deal of money.
7) This is a continuation from #6 this is a list of possible businesses that should be allow for purchess and creation:
1.Farming- Creates forage, small amounts of cattle and animals (can be sent to a butchery to turn to edable food or sold for a smaller profit, the city needs to have a butchery to have it turned to food.) Creates a small profit univerally
2. Butchery- buys catle and other animals to create food to be sold to caravaneers. Creates small profits in small towns to medium profits in larger cities.
3. Manufacturing Company- Creates forms of transports such as carts and cars, needs to be bought upgrades to create cars or larger durable carts. Creates anywhere from small profit with carts, no profit with cars (no fuel source no car buying) to a large profit from carts and cars.
4. Oil drilling- Uses a oil find to build a drill and produce crude oil to sell to distileries or caravans that transport crude oil. Creates a Medium-large profit depending on area and local businesses. You must buy the Drill and the containers to hold the crude oil.
5. Oil and Fuel Distilery- Buys or is supplied Crude Oil to be turned to Fuel and sold to caravans. Creates a Large profit at medium-high expense. (you need to buy the material for distilling the oil.)
6. Express Delivery Service- The more interactive company takes contracts to transport delivery Items to certain towns, you can hire caravans or transport teh packages your self, each contract offers a base price, you can attempt to gain more money buy charging more but risk losing the contract, base prices depend on the city and location of the delivery. These deliverys can go from city-city, or even have you transport material to camps set up by caravans in need of fuel, forage, water, or amunition. Profits vary

More pop up in my head but I don’t know how it could fit into the game while still being interesting and not a cleche.

Well, looks like this topic is actually worth something…

So, my suggestions:
More RPGish stats and development. Intelligence should do something worth investing in it, unlike in C1.
More detailed weapon statistics based on reality. Don’t modify weapon for balance, pick a right weapon to implement…more than enough of those around.
Secondary and randomly generated standalone missions, like transports of specific cargo, escort contracts etc….

Holy cow dude, that is one hell of a nice interface.
I can’t wait to kill some robbers in there.
I am slightly worried about the readability of it, though.
Maybe have a more eye friendly version, too?

My solo character is getting a tad OP… he’s got 46 AP now, and 221 sniper skill.
