The last thread on newgroudns died and with the release of new WiiCade API, I’ve decided to revamp this. For those of you who don’t know, this collab features games that are created to be played on the Wii. The games will be played using the mouse only and the instructions to the game will be introduced at the start of each game. I recommend the you implement WiiCade API into your game to make increase the level of ‘gameplay-ability’. The game should be fun and original so don’t hold back on ideas. The game can go on as long as the player chooses [they’ll be able to press ‘next’] or until they lose game.
Rules and Instructions
- – Stage Dimensions: 700×500
- – Frame Rate: 40 fps
- – Maximum Game Size: 500kb
- – The game must be compatible with Flash player 7 or below.
- – If you choose not to name your symbols, there may be some conflicts with other parts. To prevent this, simply place all your symbols into a folder named after your alias.
- – The game should be ‘rated E 10+’.
“Titles rated E10+ (Everyone 10 and older) have content that may be suitable for ages 10 and older. Titles in this category may contain more cartoon, fantasy or mild violence, mild language and/or minimal suggestive themes.” – ESRB Rating Guide
- – You must have a BA of 2.9 to join.
- – Feel free to partner up with a programmer if you are just an artist or vice-versa.
- – In order to decide who gets Co-Author a panel of judges will review each game and decide on the best games. The authors of the chosen games will recieve co-author. If you were part of team you will have to decide who gets to be listed at co-author. However, all authors will receive credit in the game.
AS Info - – You can only publish in as old as Flash 7 (MX 2004), so no filters.
- – Mouse.hide() does not work, so just make the game playable using the default cursor.
- – Don’t make a WarioWare game. It does not have to be a five-second trial.
Other Info The collab will only contain 20-30 authors. Depending on the file size. Do not include any material in your game that you did not create yourself or without having permission from the respective author. I will not be responsible if you get sued by the author. You have been warned.
You are allowed and welcome to use sound effects but keep in mind that the game must be a maximum 500kb. Also. do include background music as I we’ll be supplying that. Also, try not too make your too processor-intensive.
Not all the games will be accepted. The graphics have to be decent and the gameplay has to be fun and original or an idea that is not overused or blatantly copied from another game.
Sponsorship
Kongregate will be sponsoring this collab. The sponsor money will be divided amongst the amount of authors. If you are part of team, the money will be divided between yourself and your partner.
Lasting Info
By submitting the game you are giving me rights to modify the game for the sake of the collab. Once the collab is released i relinquish the right to modify the game in any way. However, you retain authorship rights and will be fully credited in the game. I will not claim the authorship of your game in any way. Once the game is submitted you cannot have it removed from the collab. You will have the right to post YOUR completed game onto your site. You can not host the complete collaboration. Feel free to link to the newgrounds page though ;)
