I’m going to spend much, MUCH, much, much more time into SCGMD 2 and 3. I spent the same muchos amount of time on Balloon Invasion (literally months of playing several hours a day). I am thinking I will spend about the same on this as on Amorphous+ and Dino Run (same type of award systems). I don’t really mind the “grinding”, so many more games have the same type of playing, and I still say this would really be a deserving impossible (finally again).
For such a simple dice-throwing game, I think they really made it a great game with all of the awards you could get.

yotta: That’s why I think 115 is a fair number. 110 is way too easy to get because you can pretty much focus on everything except those that are hard, and you can get them all in a short period of time (getting 100 wins/1000 zilches doesn’t take THAT long). 115 forces you to go after the tough ones, but such that you don’t have to do ridiculous ones like Massive Score/Gold-Plated/Impossible Score/etc. At 110 I can’t see how it’d be worth an Impossible Badge, but 115 definitely (most definitely 120, but I don’t know how cool people would be with that).

The ones for consecutive zilch-free wins would be really hard. Most of my games have at least one zilch, not because I’m greedy but because I can’t bank for 2 or 3 turns in a row and have to keep rolling to try to reach 300 pts.

I got over 8,000 points in one turn, which must be extremely rare: it started out with two 1500-pt rolls and I don’t remember where it went from there.
I doubt I’ll get many of the “consecutive zilch-free” awards though.

There is a trick to the consecutive zilch-free awards. It’d be near-impossible to get them otherwise.

Impossible badge should be for all 120 awards. I have 115 and i only need most difficult. It is harder to lose 50 times than to win 100 times

It’s actually really easy to lose 50 times, lol.
I wouldn’t mind a 120-achievement Imp Badge for obvious reasons. I just don’t think 110 is hard enough at all.

Big NO to skill-devoid endurance superbadges from this corner. I’ll continue to hope for another impossible to rival amorphous and zunderfury.

Tomorrow is the day guys… This must be THE game for tomorrow. I’m on 105 awards now and can get 115 easily, so let’s hope for a 115 award impossible, but I doubt it :P

I tend to think Feudalism II will still get the nod for tomorrow’s challenge, it seems very popular. Unless it has API problems, that is. If this is the case I’m hoping Zilch could get mid-week badges ala Meat Boy still.

The badges are definitely needed… There should be some kind of ‘badge-boost’ with all the badge-worthy games now… A lot of games should get badges. You can’t give all of them badges if you only give 2 games a week badges.

Yeah, a lot of badgeworthy games just exploded onto the site simultaneously. You know it’s a good week when a game struggles to get on the weekly leaderboards with a rating just below 4.

Any chance of letting us know what that is?

Streaks only end when you lose. If you get a Zilch, just quit and start again. Your streak will still be intact.

I’m still undecided about how to handle badges in this game. I’m somewhat wary of doing an impossible badge at all because time and luck override skill so much with this game. I know there are a few other impossible badges on the site that are also like this (to a far lesser degree), but I’m not sure I’m quite happy with the way those badges were done either.
I’m wary of the fact that this thread contains the most hardcore Zilch fans on the site, and even here there’s some disagreement about what would be appropriate for an impossible badge.
Honestly, right now I’m somewhat leaning toward just having a hard badge for any 100 awards. If I do an impossible, it will be for all 120. Impossibles are meant to be basically the hardest task that’s feasibly doable, without holding back on the difficulty. I realize that a few of the impossibles on the site are too easy to follow this philosophy very well.
I can always add an impossible later if there’s demand for it, but after collecting 100 awards, I don’t imagine many typical players are going to want to keep going.
There’s also the issue that this badge would actually be quite easy, even for an unskilled player. They’d just have to put in a lot of time. I can’t say I feel too good about that concept.

I have played the game and I really don’t see how you can have an impossible badge. The game i far too luck based, which in turn would lean to countless retries and messups. This is just like pandemic. You play the game over and over, hoping to get Madagascar infected. For this game you wait over and over to actually get a good roll.

In defense, the statistical nature of many of these Awards leads many other smaller luck-based awards to be achieved. Even if you were just going for Gold-Plated, odds are you’d unlock quite a few Awards along the way naturally.

The Gold-Plated achievements takes so many time, and how can I get 10 consecutive wins against a Realist CPU? [He’s very “lucky”], how can I get 6 zilch free-games? My god, I don’t know how did MrRubix got those awards, because they’re HARD

Again, streaks only end when you lose. If you don’t think you will win, quit and try again.

I’d find it pretty unfair that Paramedic II would get its impossible like that while this one is much more obvious.
I don’t want to seem like a heavy arguer here, but let me just state a few points. A hard badge for 100 awards would be easy. Too easy. There’s almost exactly about 20 awards that you’ll actually need to take some time (and yes, even skill) for. The rest is piece-of-cake rolling the dice and knowing you’ll have 100 awards soon (worked out for me like that). The other 20 awards is what makes it difficult and luck-based.
I’d accept any decision, but this is one of the few luck-based games out here that actually deserve an impossible. The Necronomicon was frustrating. Paramedic II was frustrating. I’m actually enjoying myself on Zilch, no matter how long it takes for me to get 6000 on a single roll and 15k on a winning game.

even 115 awards are more or less doable. I achieved them in 103 games but with quiting for the consecutive awards. All the others can be achieved more or less by trying to get the 15000 and 50 point diff win. So I think a hard badge for 115 and impossible for 118 or 119 without the obvious stupid endurance gold me-plated award.
Challenge for 30
easy for 20
medium for 50
hard 115
impossible 118/9
What do you think?

I don’t think the badges will be all award dependent. Think something similar to the badging of Amorphous+. I think the 5th gameplay award will be reduced to 300 games, so all 120 awards will be fair for an Impossible Badge.
