I like Left 4 Dead because it’s fast-paced and there are special infected unlike Resident Evil which is kinda slow and is OMG scary.

Nah, in all seriousness, I choose Resdient Evil, because it’s a series with a fantastic running-right-through. Resident Evil 4 was a masterpiece and I loved it way more then L4D, which isn’t dreadfall Btw

Resident Evil hands down. Left 4 Dead is fun but it doesn’t even deserve to be shown in the same light as RE. Resident Evil was a classic that was remade for Gamecube and into 3 movies so far. Resident Evil invented survival horrer. I’m not saying that because I like it, Resident Evil is litterally known for being the first survival horrer videogame. L4D doesn’t even compare to how heart-pounding the RE series was. Especially RE4. Although i’ll admit L4D was slightly better than RE5.

And I just wanted to add under no curcumstances do I hate Left 4 Dead. I actually think it’s really cool, but Resident Evil is just so much better. In RE it makes since with a great story, and very scary on top of that. L4D is just kill shoot kill kill shoot kill kill kill shoot kill shoot some more kill survive. With millions of zombies running at you it’s not scary. In real life it would be, but on a videogame it’s not.

l4d because honestly zombies wileding guns knives etc and l4d has bestest multiplaya plus l4d 2 will wipe out RE5’s existence from the space time contuium

i play LEFT 4 Dead and i hate rasident evil because i watch its very ugly play

left 4 dead, better weapon swapping/switching, duel pistols, more realistic guns, playable zombies, 4 player co-op mode, survival, molotoves and pipe bombes, zombie classes

RE 4 single player blows l4d away.

well heres my oppinion the re4 andd re5 arent based off of zombies and no more first persons or over shoulder views old views pwn . anyways i prefer left 4 dead off of re4 and re5 but my favorite game in zombie nature would be re3:nemisis but my favorite game ever would be super mario 64 :D (sorry lol)

I prefer Resident Evil 4 over Left 4 Dead.

They are both very different games. RE is scary, slow paced and follows a set path. I haven’t played L4D but from what i’ve heard, it is fast, riveting and an action game. But I reckon RE. They’ve been in business for what, 25 sequels and spin offs (wild geuss).

Oh, /sigh guess i’ll have to throw my vote in. My vote is gonna have to be for……..

RE has a wonderful background and premise, and an actual storyline that extends beyond just the games (i’m talking about the books…. screw the movies). also the characters are endearing and memorable for reasons different from L4D. Chris (manly man), Leon (Effeminate man), and Wesker (Slick bad boy) have become fan girl favorites for the listed reasons while RE3 had the one thing that gave 12 year old boys nose bleeds every night… Jill in a tube top and skirt. As each story develops and progresses, we find out precious little about the avatar we are playing, and yet through their interaction with the world around them, we come to find that we know more about them and their world than we do about most videogame characters. In addition, the gameplay revolves around playing the game at your own pace for the most part, giving you the chance to scare yourself shitless because of your own pacing and caution. As a zombie fear-based one player game, i have yet to see another franchise do as well (not just in sales, but in game quality) [I say fear-based because one of the zombie games we are ignoring here is Dead Rising and that had single player zombie action-based done amazingly.]

Left 4 Dead, on the other hand, is an entirely new take on the zombie game genre (can we call it it’s own genre now? instead of survival horror?) L4D is a game to beat all zombie movies, as it’s developers admit. While there is next to nothing in terms of story given to you (fan boys enter rage _[here]__) the level of humor is very high while still being both bleak and tounge-in-cheek, if you get the references from the different movies. the best way to describe the atmosphere in any part of the game where you aren’t shooting is Campy; It knows it’s gonna be rediculous, so it plays it serious and over the top (Their flight just got delayed. Permanently.). but how much of the game do we spend not shooting? L4D is a frantic, FPS zombie Charlie Foxtrot. very rarely has a game made me both hyperventilate “ohshitohshitohshit” under my breath, while leaving me with enough hope that i might be able to beat it, and then dash my hopes and dreams by having me get pounced on by a flaming hunter while being dragged away by a smoker AND in the middle of all that, i got barfed on by a boomer. Needless to say i needed a moment to recompose myself and truely appreciate how much this game and it’s developers understand about the art of “just barely winning.” Throw in the fact that the game is designed around multiplayer and that adds a new level of pure awesome to the mix (provided you don’t get the 13 year old Halo rejects yelling at you to heal them because they threw a molotov at their feet).

I love the RE series , and have since the 2nd one (took me a while to get into the 1st) and they will forever stand as some of my favorite games (although 5 is a little…enh…) but after carefully reviewing the facts and my memories of both games, my final vote is going to have to go the the L4D corner for one reason and one reason only. The witch.

When I turn out the lights in my bathroom and walk down the pitch black hallway in my apartment to go to bed and I stop myself to listen for her before i realize what i’m doing….that’s immersion….that’s a great game.

Resident Evil

Well, Resident Evil 5 was terrible. Resident evil 4 was Ok. Left 4 Dead is only good for killing zombies. No storyline.No cool weapons. The maps get boring after the 100th time playing them. Its not scary either.It does have Multiplayer though,and its awesome. Resident Evil 4 was kinda scary, It had cool guns and an ok storyline. It is only single player though.
Out of Left 4 Dead and RE 4, i think L4D is better.
Maybe Left 4 Dead 2 will be better than both…..

Oops… I mean RE4 is better…NOT L4D.
