All MMOs are repetitive grinding.
There isn’t a best one, they’re all bad.

Ragnarok. I used to play anima ro, but I don’t anymore cause I don’t have access to a computer that I can download stuff on. I think it is called anthem ro now.

at any rate, whatever the best one is, I can’t play it…
so here’s some of the best that I can play.
Runescape: I am aware that it’s not the best ever. However, it’s the only first person, NOT action-point based, 3D MMORPG I can play.
starfighter:disputed galaxy was a pretty good MO(semi-rpg), (it wasn’t quite fit for the massive part), though now it doesn’t have the multiplayer at all.
Pardus is a pretty decent action-point, 2-d, space-based MMORPG; there’s plenty of AP to work with, and no server hit limit (unlike urbandead…shudder), and there’s a real penalty for dying-and a bounty system.

I say that:
WoW has the most paying members and is the most spoken about
RuneScape has the most accounts overally and is very accessible
MapleStory has the second most accounts, apparently, but it is bad

the best FREE mmo i’ve ever played is “Perfect World international”: very good graphics, good WoW-style play, LOTS of quests (less “grinding”), and good multi-player quests cleverly designed to encourage high-level players to help newbies fight bosses.
i mostly play Runescape, however. i tried Maplestory, and it’s lousy…

In quality, the best is Wow hands down. The only reason people won’t like it is because of the cost. But if you want to make friends, than this is the game, with most everything having to do with teamwork with the variety of things that you can play.
