Most of the other missions I have complete on Crazy difficulty is just fine, except some of them are hard and tricky. The problem is, I kept losing, since I was trying to save a lot of minerals for missiles to shoot at multiple enemies, including mothership(s). Does anyone have a strategy/walkthrough for this game? If anyone can make a strategy/walkthrough, let me know. Thanks!

Probably, but I’m pretty sure he’s busy playing other games. I think someone else can write a guide or record the video. Thanks though. Don’t worry, I’m still patient enough to wait and hope to see someone do it. :)

For the unidentified objects, the following tactics work for both Response 3 and 4 at any difficulty
1. Build like 2-3 solar generators and an energy storage. Upgrade the solar generators completely
2. Build like 10 missiles fully upgraded for response 3 and 15 missiles for Response 4. Don not build Thels or Pulsars: you won’t have the energy consumption for them and the missiles will take out everything, even the ring ships
3. Relay spam: you can build a bunch of relays between your base and the ship (connected to your solar generators.) The basic idea is to use these as a delaying tactic while the missiles kill everything; the UIO will focus on the relays and you can put them down roughly as fast as it can kill them.
4. If you are short of minerals don’t be afraid to recycle one of the missiles for minerals
5. On Response 4 relay the right one first, then switch to the left side when the right one is dead.
6. Profit

No, I won’t be walkthroughing this game. Too frickin’ long, plus some other factors.
To add to what thok said… play on Slow when you need to. Makes micromanagement so much easier, even if it makes things take a lot longer.

That’s the 1st, but how about those hard to finish levels? Like the Protect the warp ship or the unidentified objects, they’re among the most difficult.
In any case, I’ll try the tip against the flagships at the top. And after I have finished it, it was a barely moment for me… so many close calls.

Thok, I tried your strategy on UIO and it works on all difficulties, including Crazy. Thank you!
Oh, and there is a thing about the fourth and last Response mission. If you play it on Crazy difficulty, you will face not only two UIO but THREE. You face off two of them first, then the third. I’m not sure if the third UIO either comes from the left or right randomly. It took me at least eight minutes to finish the mission.
Most of the mining missions I have done is just fine, except for the last one. I’m half-way through, but I end up being pwned. The only Crazy missions I’m have hard time for now is protecting the Warp Ship, in which it moves forward. Protecting the Warp is fairly easy enough as long as you have missiles and enough minerals and energy to shoot missiles. Pulse cannons are helpful due to the fact that they can destroy enemy missiles much easier and keep things safe.

The third ship shows up at around 6:00; if you kill the first two ships before that you don’t have to kill the third one.
Also, you’re welcome.

I guess so… but usually, you’ll almost always get passed the 6:00 mark… I barely made it out alive.
Though I got to wonder, how does 1 survive against a sudden rush of 20 motherships, when they warp to attack distance from the warp ship?

That really stinks! You were to be my light in the darkness that is the space game:missions. There is nothing on youtube except for a hacker cheat :( I am having a hard time, even on normal difficulty. Tass, you are my hero(even if you aren’t making a walkthrough for this one)!

I sort of explained above why I’m not. Sorry bro. There is solid strategy in this thread already.

I have a screenshot of a winning setup for the final mission on crazy, how do I embed it in a post without having to go link offsite?

First I’d like to give credit to Tenet. This is basically his strategy that I saw in the comments. Nice going Tenet, worked like a charm…
“Hint on finishing the last “boss” fight missions on any difficulty level: Use a upgraded power station placed on the frontline to absorb the death ray, with some a few L3 pulsars right behind to destroy the purple missiles. Have MANY (10-15?) healing stations within range of that Station, but make sure the station is still the “closest” to the monster. Use max-level missile bases to deal the actual damage, and level-2 power stations to ensure it all doesn’t rune out of juice. No other weapon types, just missiles and pulsars. You can adapt this strategy and scale it up for the 3 boss final fight."
This setup is very simple, and very effective. If you kill both Superships before about 5:30 game time, the third Supership doesn’t show up, and that = win. My mission took about 4:30 minutes. The whole structure was created before any heavy fighting occured, with all units fully upgraded by the time the first Supership started using its beam weapon on the solar station. It leaves you with plenty of minerals left over for missiles, I never had to recycle a single unit. The only unit I lost was the left-side solar station, and that was right before final victory.

Total number of units:
Solar Station: 10, including the starter
Energy Store: 2
Repair Station: 11
Laser: 8
Missile Launcher: 14
Notes:
1) Your number of relays will probably vary due to your placement of the other units. If you notice a unit not being powered then just add a relay where needed.
2) The key is keep the right and left Solar Stations closest to the Superships, respectively. They have a lot of health and that’s where you want the enemy fire directed. Occasionally you will see spawned ships attacking other things but they never come close to killing anything.
3) I’m sure you can change things up if you really want to, as far as the number of particular units. Placement is not really important as long as everything is able to get powered up. And the Energy Stores never really fluctuated much, they always seemed to be at/near maximum capacity.
4) Start the mission out on slow to give yourself time to build everything as fast as possible before the enemy starts attacking
That’s about it, have fun. :D
Thanks for the link info dragonshield!
..now if only I can figure out how to do Mission 2/6: Jumping to warp :P

I’ve done pretty much all the missions on Crazy expect the last two mining ones.
Weapon 2/6 is pretty tricky because of the 20 motherships that warp in at the end, but its possible. My tactic:
Build one THEL about halfway down to take out the small earlier mother ship waves. Could build a missile turret I guess but I find THELs useful for covering the ship on the smaller waves without mineral loss.
4) Build 5-6 fully upgraded missiles along the last 3-4 solar stations. Make sure to spread them out so they fire at different targets. No point in killing one mothership with 30 missiles if 20 of them fly off in the distance. A bunch of repair bays will give you some slack if you have the cash.

Check Orakio’s comments, he has some great walkthrough screenshots for the mother ships and escort missions. Actually the ones that are giving me the most trouble are sadly the basic main missions now…

Almost half-way finished on Crazy difficulty. There is a strategy on mining missions. In mineral missions, the enemies warp ahead when you have certain amounts of minerals, naturally. Before you face off the group of enemies, build at least three Solar Systems, some pulse lasers, then build miners. If the enemies come, turn off all of your miners. That way, you can save time to build more defense and as well as mining progress. If you’re almost finished the level and the motherships are coming after you, don’t worry about them, just set your speed to “Fast” and let the miners finish the job for you.

To go along with what Makoto said, build a central triangle(eventually increasing to a square or up to maybe 5 generators), put a 2 lasers at each generator(at the beginning only put two or three that can hit the bottom/down) which you will upgrade to pulsars level 2-3 and a repair facility in the center. build energy relays out to generators and sell the relays to make separate mining facilities which can mine away from the combat zones and can be decontructed for their full value if necessary. Mostly just worry about making a strong central core. when you see wave of motherships approaching, put all money into miners and just beat them. Pausing the miners, waiting to build them at the beginning are all key.
I have Defense 3/3 left to do on crazy and it is causing me drama. If any of you guys have help, would be lovely.

Finished the whole game on Crazy difficulty today. It took me a while to figure it out how to finish the certain levels. Sometimes I get luck when I’m protecting the warp ship on 2/6 Warp Mission, due to the fact that sometimes motherships appears either at the top or bottom for some odd reason. Tough at times but I made it today. The rest of the warp levels I did just fine.

20/21 crazy missions finished, but I can’t seem to get by the 2/6 Warp mission. Does anyone have any pointers?
I’m not getting lucky with the motherships coming in at the top or bottom, they warp right in on top of me from top and bottom. I’ve tried 3 missiles fully upgraded with pulsers, I tried 3 Thels and a missile fully upgraded with a lot of pulsers. I’ve tried a few different strategies. The other warp missions were no problem.
Anyone got any ideas?
Ysayell1: for defense 3/3 I used mainly missiles if I recall, but I remember putting up a lot of miners on the asteroid field to get the minerals to finish my build. I also spammed pulsers around the big miner to get the o-ring ships that got through, and built like 2 or 3 repair stations to keep the big miner healthy.
edit: just reread Fendall’s post from above he was talking about what I’ve been calling the warp missions, will try that and see if it works, but any advice would be appreciated.

Check the comments for a user named Orakio, his strategy is a winner for that mission. He even includes links to screenshots that he made.
EDIT: I just found them, apparently he’s been keeping his thread alive, which is cool. They’re on page 10 of the comments as of this moment.
