It’s because it contains mochicoin microtransactions. Discuss.
Bloons Tower Defense 4 will not be on kongreagate.

Notice how we have all the swords and sandals games out there that demand you pay them to get the full game, but a good game like bloons can’t get on kong now because you can pay to expanded content |
|
|
i hate when you have to pay for a game. |
|
|
It isn’t, you have a choice to skip content and just start off at officer lvl 31, the whole entire game is there no strings attached, and entirely free |

facepalm Read my post again. You don’t have to pay to play, you can pay to unlock more content. Like say “Ok, I finished the game now what? Oh wait, I’ll purchase more levels to have more fun.” |

But not a lot. |

If it implends kreds instead of mochicoins, it can come on kong. |

They need NinjaKiwi’s permission, right? |

That’s NinkaKiwi alright. :P |

Originally posted by ParalysisTerror: The one and only reason a game won’t be on Kong is that “the developer doesn’t want to add it.” If the devs of Ninjakiwi are willing to, they can just take the whole mochicoin part out (like what Agony:the Portal did), or integrate the kred system (like Twin Shot 2). I think the reason that BTD4 is still not on Kong is another deal that’s not related to microTx at all: site exclusive period. Same case that happened on BTD3, Gemcraft ch. 0, and Sonny 2. Of course Ninjakiwi might be reluctant to upload BTD4 on Kong at all because of the negative reactions of the community on previous microTx games, but we can never be sure on that. |

i say screw btd4 and its money grabbing attempt i hate money grubbing flash developer with delusions of grandeur its just a dumb flash game, not like a ps3 or xbox360 full real game! make it ninjakiwi so ALL paid things can be unlocked via time and skill grinding, etc there should be a way to get items via time, not just via cash cash option should be for impatient or those with no time on their hands with family kids, former hardcore players now grown up with joba and families etc.. |

AlienAdvisor – it’s people with attitudes like yours that are scaring off great games from coming to Kongregate. The whole idea that people shouldn’t be paid for their hard work is ridiculous. They’re not money grubbing, they’re trying to make a living. Flash game development is exceedingly risky and almost no one gets rich off of it – many people end up spending months working on a game and make little to no money on it. The move to microtransactions is an effort to provide a steadier source of income and also to increase income so that you can get higher quality games. Keep in mind, game quality is often related to how much time the developer can put into it, and if a dev can make more money they’re willing to put more programmers, artists, and time into the game. So, if people start being willing to pay, the quality of games will increase. In most cases, they’re even nice enough to give you a fully-playable game for free and then just offer bonus content that can be paid for. You even admitted that you’re willing to pay for games on the PS3 or the 360. What’s the difference? If a game is good and you want to spend hours with it, then you should be willing to pay for it, regardless of what system it’s on. A crappy PS3 game shouldn’t be okay to charge for when asking for a few dollars for a top-quality Flash game is somehow offensive. The only difference is that you got used to Flash games being free. Now the industry is growing up and some of the best games need to charge in order to justify the longer development time and higher quality. If you don’t want to, or can’t, pay for the games, then don’t play them. But complaining about “money grubbing” is just silly in this case. |

but flash is just a hobby, not a business like Sega or Nintendo people who expect money from flash games are stupid flash games started by fans for FREE, now greedy people are trying to make all flash games paid for only, or only get best items via microtransactions ALL ITEMS AND LEVELS SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE UNLOCKED WITH SKILL AND TIME, in addition to buying them if you are not a hardcore gamers anymore with a family and have no time punishing people who have far superior skill to those who just have deep pockets is wrong and is what will kill flash hobby gaming sorry you dont understand and just want to charge for everything and make cash gaming has always been about soul and skill not cash PS fine good, i scare away people and games who micotransactions, GOOD! |

It may be free, but since its like the market, where it can become quite lucrative. And hobby? If that was the case, there’s no point in showcasing excellence, we’d be seeing a lot of crappy stuff, and we don’t want that. Flash programming takes quite a while to build up, and a lot do become professional flash artist/programmers. In theory, everything can be charged (unless air is included). That’s beside the point, you say games should be free? Whatever happen to R & D? Those require a lot of fundings… graphics, music, game play, testers? They are often not free. Given that flash games require less requirements, bottom line is, they still need it in order to improve the game. Added note, MMO type flash games, they run on servers… and servers are hefty money eaters. Sacred Season is a good example of possibly what you are saying (you often need to pay to get better items, but at least you can still play most of it, and go to all dungeons, albeit on a weaker scale than those that pay – yet gold there, can be earned in-game, but are often set with hard quests), but a bit simpler and a more relevant to my argument, Starfighter Disputed Galaxy, its free, and a lot of complaints and server problems (overloads, hacking, etc.) and still no cash is required for players. |
