Did this change in the last week? Because I’m looking at the “Robber” skill on my Rogue, and it’s still listed in the guide above as a skill and as the reward for the Robber medal.

When did you start that saved game? There was an update some time ago that getting that medal will simply increase the money you gain from robbing without having a skill for it.
Sorry, I think I should have clarified, because I don’t actually know if you can still choose the skill. You no longer gain it from the medal as an automatic one (so that you still have space for other skills).

Ah, gotcha. The game was started maybe a week and change ago, and Robber showed up as a skill probably a week ago. I went ahead and got the medal, and as you note, it lists the reward as “+25% robbery money,” not “Starting skill – Robber +2” as the guide currently says. Thanks!

For the Critical Hits medal: does that only include your own crits, or your allies’ as well?
|

Your allies’ criticals count, but I prefer to get as many on my own as possible, since the allies just aim to hit, rather than aiming for criticals(unless you have Rogue allies, then it may be better to let them get the shots). I personally used the manual reload shotgun/rifle/revolver for that particular medal, holding down the spacebar while taking my time to aim for the head/torso/abdomen/whatever.

Interesting flaw in the programming(I think). You’re not allowed to add reload mods to the Gravity Gun, but apparently, that doesn’t stop the shop from spawning them with such.

Hey, in case the walkthrough maker comes and checks this forum now and again, your “Cool” skill statistics are wrong. The maximum isn’t 10, I think it’s like 30 or something, because I’m looking at my Cool 13 right now and it’s giving me 52% faster recovery.

Out of curiosity, does Cool counter the drawback of Aimed Shot, or does it just speed up how soon your reticule shrinks back down?

Question. On the mods screen there are some that have the disclaimer that say that activating it will mean you can’t earn Kongregate achievements. What I want to know is, if I made one save file with (for example) the laptop-difficulty mod and earned some medals on that save file, would it disqualify any of m other save files from earning achievements? What about files I start later without the “cheating” mods? Basically I’m having trouble with the game and want to use the mods to earn some medals, but I still want to get the achievements in the long run, is this possible?
|
|
|
metadata
I would expect you wouldn’t get the medals (in game achievements) from those particular save files. e.g., get to day 40 on hardcore with “cheating” mod, no hardcore 40 day medal. Then start a game without “cheating” mod, get to day 40 on hardcore, NOW you get the medal.
I haven’t particularly tested that, but given that the medal system is OUTSIDE of the saved game system (The saves all share the same medals), I don’t see how it could be any other way.
If you’re worried about it, back up your flash save directory.

No it doesn’t – only Weapon Level or AutoFire mods do.
In my 100+ HC game I use a Rogue with a Revolver – when I maxed with Aimed shot I was slown down so much I almost lost, until I managed to upgrade my gun enough.

I may be a nerd, but I don’t know how to do that on my mac. How do you back up your directory (and more importantly where do you find it)?

The formula is actually 50 + 6 \* (# of medals)
so given the number of medals you can earn, unupgraded it’ll never give over 300g per day.

thanks for the guide, i made one that is regarding to my build
(FULL MEDALS AND BADGES page1&2) **finished hardcore mode 100days**
_statistics shown here_

upgrades :
wall 3
_a lil upgrade would be nice, did it at day 50_
sandbag 5
_leveled it to 5 from day 60-65_
storage 10
_level twice every 10 days_
repairman 3
_level twice at day 2, final upgrade between day 10-20_
trainer 5
_level twice day 1, max it before day 20_
smith 6
_until you find the right time to buy the gravity gun or anything you want from the shop_
museum 1
_leveling it more than once is useless_
chicken 56
_you don’t need that much chickens since you farm money from taunting_
sister 25
_you gain about 800 gp per day with 15 sisters, don’t go over 25_
villa 16
_use your earned money from taunting to pump up the villa, lets just say level it every 10 levels, if you can do more at higher levels then do so_
oder of recruiting :
noble-militia-duelist
**sheriff** (hero) why? you pawn armored units in about between 1-6shots max, and air mobs, exploders will be easy to handle
taunt 5
leadership 10
quick eyed 10
accuracy 12
dr holiday 5
cripple shot 10
anti armor 10
_**shotgun mk-10 mod4 (anti armor3 x2, accuracy3, leech1) max damage = 150×9 1.8/sec**_
**noble** (uncheck boss and defend) why? easy to level and really helps at early game, damages the most at the end, and you need active 10 at an early stage
active 10
reloading 41
_**gravity gun mk-4 mod1 (damage3) max damage = 1050**_
**militia** (uncheck boss and defend, +dont attack air mobs) why? they will allow you to use sisters effectively with love gaining about 800gp with 15 sisters! and dont get more than 15 sisters, and the random grenade is a bonus for mass mobs of dragonflies
love 10
da bomb 10
reloading 27
_**gravity gun mod2 (leech2, impact3) max damage = 415**_
**duelist** (uncheck defend) why? you need engineer and negotiator seriously, and equipped with the right weapon and he will handle the boss himself without any help dealing massive damage unabling the bosses to remove their shields
engineer 10
negotiator 10
cool 15
_**long bow mk-9 mod6 (fire rate3 x4, auto fire3 x2) max damage = 356 16.9/sec**_

Do Game MOD’s help or make any disadvantage? Should I use them because atm I just can’t get past day 13! It’s a little hard.

Too lazy to read all the comments, and it doesn’t look like, if it has been reported, that the guide is updated. But nobles can also learn Taunt. Mine has it AND I do NOT have the Special Trainer.

You’ve said that hunters aren’t good for the later parts of the game, I’m still a hunter. Nearing day 120, I’m able to quadruple taunt and still get a perfect game, the bowgun is easily one of the most over-powered weapons in game. Nothing survives 3 seconds of concentrated fire by me, not even shielded bosses. I rarely concentrate my fire because it’s unnecessary, I lazily sweep up and down, cripple shot slowing down the approach, Bow Master weaving through, Power Shot boosting my strength, Anti-Air for the fliers. With my villa boost (lvl 17) I do 700 damage a shot. That’s per arrow, and I shoot 6.6/sec.

Normal actually, haven’t done hardcore yet. But I was going to try it soon.
On an unrelated note, Engineer lvl 10 gives 52%.

scaling is terrible, even without grinding for rewards. have fun up to level 5 and otherwise wish you did something else with your time….
