Not exactly true ;) if your problems start at lv 5 you’re doing it wrong. And fending off huge waves around lv 80 is real sweet.

So, I’ve read around and no one seems to know what the “Looter” does or if it is even properly implemented. Does anyone know if it increases the value of your loot?

Henchman says it takes half the mission award, how does this work? Does it take half of income like insurance or love that you get during combat? The expense of henchman makes it seem like taunt isn’t that great of a kill, even maxed out, since if you get it earlier, then it tends to force you to use henchman, which takes more gold then taunt gives. (I think) and latter, the enemies just too tough to taunt.
Does “love” give gold bonus for blowing him “sisters” in any way? Or do you have to directly shoot them?

Is there any straight-forward means to accomplishing HC….I’ve attained all the medals on page 1 and am starting out my first HC play-through, but there doesn’t seem to be much consensus as to how to start and how to progress from mid/late game.
Most people just state that you need this weapon with X amount of mods and these mods or else everything falls apart. That really doesn’t help me and what I would like to know is this:
What’s a viable team to start out with and what skills should they have discovered/maxed asap within the first 10-20 days and what weapon/mod’s to look out for. I’m not looking for any over-powered setup as everyone progresses differently with the RNG in place, but atleast a general: “you need this and it doesn’t matter if it lacks mods or if its a low level mod”, as well as: “If you are unable to find said weapon/mod, then these are alternatives which will still help you hang in there”. That being said I’ve already lurked around and found that a few good starters are noble/hunter/rogue, but afterwards; it end’s up being alien speak about having some mk-11 bowgun with 6 slots and etc etc…there’s no progression between how they obtained said weapon/mod or what they did while trying to acquire it, as well as how to search for these items without hindering yourself as you try to juggle AP spending on necessities.

So….Mind telling me how you got to this point, because I doubt you started out with 2 gravity guns and an mk-10 shotgun along with a longbow. This is very very vague….and just lays out what you end up with. Could you explain from day 1?

@AcewingX
Best time wasting tip I have is to not forget the “return to title” trick. Hit Return to Title after a bad roll and you go back to the save spot. Same with resetting the Blacksmith by building a second slot over and over till you find the weapon you want. Or by digging into the Searching card stack…
Screw the RNG. Do it over if you don’t like what it gave ya. Do the boss levels over again buy playing a backup window till you get some good upgrade weapons.
Best quick reply I can give ya.
PS hold out for guns with several slots. Like 4 cause when it’s upgraded it loses a single mod

I have a crossbow or whatever they call it… Mk21 by now i believe… 3 mods, auto-fire 3, damage 3 and fire rate 3.
I have a fucking rapid bow with 200 damage. Fire rate of about 3.5.
I dont know how i got it though.
But uhm, try to get it like that, and you’ll get to day 100 at least. (Im at day 180…)
Oh, you can use Chaldon’s tip for getting the crossbow with the mods i said.

Er, is it honestly that bad…?
Well, I actually just tried every class in HC and I haven’t gotten very far…(I’m lucky just to make it passed stage 10), but most if it is psychological: I’m so worried about what classes to recruit and just insta focusing them on Big gun/Active.
So I’m really not sure what to even look for at this point. Currently going with 3 Noble’s and a Sheriff. One of my Noble’s is focused on Active while the other is on Big Gun. Sheriff is on Shotgun mastery for now, and I guess I’m trying to last long enough to max out bow mastery and find a bow gun…that being said: I’m on day 11’s intermission and will actively look for weapon/mods in day 18-25….
Is this going to work?

For starters…I have a dualist at well past day 150 and shows no sign of slowing down.
Second adding the same mod twice….BAD IDEA. If you know what diminishing return is then you know why, but for those who don’t…The more mod, in this case, that give the same upgrade, the less effect they give. IE one lvl 3 damage gives more per mod than two would, and three would give even less ect… I’ve had to scrap a weapon because the mods DECREASED the rate of fire I had so many.
And for Cozythrias…It is HIGHLY unlikely to do somthing similar to you file, let alone to recreate what you did, because of the randomness the game, also some things I would like to mention that may only have been for my file but.
Gravity Guns are rare until around day 25+
and One slot ones even more so until day 125+
I have a six slot I’ve had since day 25 on my Duelist file, pretty good may I add on a ranger. The Return to title trick doesn’t work in HC more as well, so only way to “Cheat the randomness” is to reload the page.

Farthest I can get so far is day 14 (if I’m lucky). Since either the barbarians or archers get me. So far I’ve tried going with multiple guns: modified smg/revolver/rifle or assault rifle/bowgun and it just gets a tad too hectic after a while.
Will try going Dualist again and see if I can work with it. Btw: what team did you have?

Dualist: Me Pistol Mk-12 Ammo(3) Impact(3) Damage(3) Level 107
Ranger: Gravity Gun MK-3 Leech(3) level 171
Noble: Laser Pistol Mk-5 Ammo(3) Fire-rate(3) level 170
Hunter: Combat Shotgun Mk-6 Ammo(3) Auto-fire(3) level 118
Upgrades: (Don’t ask days I don’t remember)
Wall 21
Sandbag 9
Storage max
House max
Looter 13
Repairman 9
Trainer 9
Smith max
Musium 61 (IT WAS WORTH IT! It makes more than it costs now.)
Chicken 120
Sister 30
Villa 10
SP trainer 3 (Don’t get until you have nothing more to gain from leveling naturally)
Also I ragnarock regularly without the invincibility, soooo yeah this is solid for me. I also have a MASSIVE mother F\*\*\*ing Twitch, so that helps for the crits.

….That’s great and all…but I’m wondering how you started out.
Because I just failed miserably with Dualist Q\_Q….
Can’t seem to get a good foot-hold on to anything and I usually end up failing pretty badly once those catapults start coming in on day 11; and that’s on a good run that I make it that far.
So far I keep getting either militia/sheriff/noble’s or ranger/ranger/sheriff. Since I guess I’m trying to prepare for 2 grav guns later on and either a bowgun unit or anti-air unit….but it keeps falling apart \>\_\>…and prioritizing targets become a hassle…especially when those suicide bombers or barbarians show up; as the only weapon I found that works on them is a shotgun with impact…which is hard to get in the beginning…
\_ welp…any advice guise? Not even making it far enough to use the reload trick since I’m either too low for it weapon level wise or it’s way too costly.

Mostly luck, and the reload trick works, only with refreshing the page. I do Know a few things though, Day one repairman and house, then save for next house. I had trouble with the balistas as well until the RNG finally decided to favor me. And again twich helps. Also may mean nothing but I’ve been listening to Man or Monster, and that’s when RNG favor began.

Even with repairmen: if I get swarmed it’s all over.
I can deal with the ballistae per se: with bow guns, since I discovered how grand piercing damage can be, but firing rate is poor and those barbarians just get a free rage out of it.
Then I have to have an off-hand weapon for air units, and yeah…juggling both with the RNG is like trying to walk on water for me….
But then again, maybe I’m going about this the wrong way. Maybe I should just invest in castle upgrades between days 1-10 and 30 chickens. Ignore the blacksmith upgrades and inventory upgrades until I’m ready to farm weapons between day’s 18-25. Might also invest in atleast a level 1 museum…though I wonder why it costs 4000 just to get a basic benefit from it….
Anyone else have any tips in terms of team make up and what to do from day’s 1 to…whenever it actually evens out? I know it’s mainly luck based but anything helps….and Thanks you two for helping out so far; if you have anything else to offer: I’m all ear’s.

Mainly me but W/e
Also just get the first upgrade of museum until day like 75.
Also I have a Sheriff going ATM Here are my stats
Elona Shooter Stactics Day 31
You are playing Hardcore Mode.
30 Perfect Games scored.
9310 eggs collected.
Exploded 1813 sisters.
Robbed 79 children.
Total of 3030 enemies killed.
Total of 520221 GP earned.
I think I’m making 100 days easy at this rate.

Day 36
Now known as Bomberman Day.
I was attacked for a full day of bombers and the boss.
I was like….damn….
Also if you get to day 40 in HC you get a free Gravity gun at the start of every game. Also Doctor Holiday…Level 11? SOmethings not right here.

Bleh…seems like if you can’t get some anti-armor levels or atleast a level 2 anti-armor mod on a shotgun, then you most likely won’t make it passed day 10 \_….And of course you need a combination of both to survive anything at day 20-30.

It’s surprising because last game I found a shotty with Lv. 3 anti-armor and I was making mince-meat of most of the armor units. This time around I had a level 1 mod and no anti-armor skill, which made a world of difference in a painful way….
Still not getting any farther than stage 14, because even with a good gun; my teammate’s just can’t keep up at all.

I’m still not getting that part either: what in the world could you possibly be desperate enough to get within the first 10 days?
It’s all mostly low grade stuff and maybe a level 3 mod if your lucky that’s worth more than half your current income.

At day 86 ATM almost done.
I followed Cozythrais’s way, for the upgrades, all else is praying to the RNG.
Also Aliies thats good enough reason to refresh the page.

IMO the best way to start is as a sheriff, keep your pump action, they remain the best IMO. Sometimes I whip out a combat or auto when I need to burst stuff down fast (like armageddon), but otherwise, just hold spacebar down, shoot, wait for click, shoot, wait for click. Don’t let go of space…Well, actually IIRC there was something that made you stop reloading, I forget what. make sure you double hit space for that and hold it again.
I don’t like relying on bowgun strategies, they are bugged and dont always damage beserkers or kamikazee dudes despite hitting them fine. Keep replacing that pump action until you get one with lots of modding potential (unless its too low level).
Anyway, last time I played was awhile back, and there were still 2 “unknown” items in the 2nd page of the shop, anybody know what those are?
