    [1A] Introduction
Hello, and welcome to my Tower of Greed FAQ and Walkthrough guide! My name is MakotoShinobi, and you’ll probably know me when I’m at the Kongregate for the most of the time. I’m here to help you all on how to play well in Tower of Greed and how to earn the specific in-game achievements, and as well as badges.

[2A] What is Tower of Greed?
Tower of Greed is an fast-paced platform action game where you have to take the role of your hero (I assume he’s a cat) to collect many gems and exit out of the moving tower as much as possible.

    [3A] Basic Controls
Arrow Keys or WASD: Move your Hero (For Doors, walk next to it and push up.)
    Spacebar or J: Jump
    Shift or K: Use Item
    [4A] Rules of the Game
The object of the game is to score many points and exit out of the tower as much as possible. The whole in-game length is endless, making it entirely an endurance game. Every time you completed any achievement(s) in the game, you’ll earn the trophy. When you walk right next to the door, push up and you’ll see the menu screen asking you whether you like to exit out of the game or keep playing. When you exit out of the game, you’ll be able to submit your score and trophies. Be sure to do this as soon as you got the trophies! The tower moves up and you must stay up as possible. If you fall off, you lose the game. When you lost the game, you will not be allowed to submit your score and trophies; this prevents players from trying to doing something way too easy and helps to add the challenge factor.
    [4B] Gems
Green Gem – Worth 50 points.
Blue Gem – Worth 500 Points.
Silver Diamond – Worth 5,000 points
Gem Bag – Contains the useable power-up. Worth 100 points, but if you’re still holding the power-up, you’ll earn 1,100 points.
    [4C] Useable Power-Ups
Hourglass (shorten as Time Stop) – A time power-up that stops the tower’s movement for a brief period of time. This is good for those tough to reach spots such as grabbing the silver diamond(s).
Gem Magnet – Attracts the gems and comes to you. This is very helpful for getting a lot of blue gems and as well as rare silver diamonds.
Shield – Makes you invincible for a brief period of time. Good for avoiding the dangerous spots or pass through enemies.
Death Skull (shorten as Death) – Knocks all the enemies that is shown on screen. Useful if you want to do grind kill(s) or clear those dangerous situations, such as a bunch of Pang-Pongs.

    [4D] Enemies
Snail Shell – These mindless foes just simply walks to left and right. Easy to avoid unless they’re in the corridors.
Pang-Pong (call them Spring-Men if you like) – These bouncy foes bounces to left to right. This is probably your toughest enemies in the game.
Shell Shark – These shell like foes are smart enough to knock you down. They can climb ladder, so be sure to climb quick!
[5A] Trophies (Working in Progress. Help is very much appreciated!)

[6A] Hints and Tips (More hints and tips to be given. Replies helps out.)
= Silver diamonds (worth 5,000 points) really helps you out to score higher the amount of points. If you see it, try grabbing it. Alternatively, if you can’t get the silver diamonds, you can hold the power-up and collect the gem bags giving you 1,100 points instead of 100.
= Collecting the silver diamonds can either be tricky or difficult. Depending on how well you remember what that floor looks like, and you know how to get it, you can pretty much getting it sometimes without the help of time stop or gem magnet.
= If you see many Pang-Pongs (or call them a spring-men if you like) shown on screen, use death to knock all of them down, so that you can keep going safely. Alternatively, you can use shield to go through them, but be sure to escape that tricky situation as quickly as possible!
= Don’t let the snail sharks get too close to you while you’re on the ladder! If you let them do, chances are, you’re going down.
= Don’t try to go all the way up unless you’re trying to get “Impatient Much?” trophy. If you’re doing this, you’ll end up being knocked down by any foes or spikes or any other unexpected sightings you didn’t see.
    [7A] Badges
= Sack o’ Sapphires Badge (easy – 5 points) – Collect 10 blue gems, then successfully exit the tower. (This is an very simple task for beginners, so just collect ten blue gems, find the door, and exit out of the tower.)
= Scalling the Ivory Tower Badge (medium – 15 points) – Reach floor 25, then successfully exit the tower. (This one is rather easy or tricky for the most. To earn this medium badge, you either have to stay right in the door until it says “floor 25” or alternatively you can reach up to floor 30 and exit to the door.)
= Multifaceted Portfolio Badge (hard – 30 points) – Collect any 50 trophies (This one you may be thinking it’s easy, but it’s not. While all other trophies are easy, some are rather tricky to get, such as close call. This one will take a while to get any 50 trophies. The only thing to remember is that when you got the trophies during the game, be sure to successfully exit the tower otherwise you won’t save the trophies!)
= A Winner Is You! Badge (impossible – 60 points) – Score 500,000 points, then successfully exit the tower (I call this a hard badge at least myself. Sure, it doesn’t look too impossible to me, but still not easy. The only way to score 500,000 points is to have careful planning and memorization of what the floors looked like. To me, this is one of the semi-difficult badges I have played so far, and it’s pretty much the shortest impossible badge to be made although it’s a bit longer than Streamline and Fold. This takes me like fifteen or twenty minutes to score 500,000 points if I can remember.)
    [8A] Conclusion
Tower of Greed has to be one of the most enjoyable and challenging games I have ever played. If there’s something very helpful you have something to offer, please post your reply in the forums. That way, it helps me to continue on updating this guide.
Thank you very much for reading. “A winner is you!”

Including some of the dangerous floors would be nice.

Example, the four ladders floor encountered from around floor 60 on: you’ll see four ladders over a spike pit. If you take the left most ladder, you’ll get a diamond and a bag. The exit is at the right most ladder, though. I would recommend ditching the treasure and booking it straight for the right side, as the ladders take a bit of time to navigate.

Is there any difference between arcade and survival if you don’t choose the “bank gems” option?
Should you bank gems?

Should you bank gems if you’re going for the impossible badge?

The bank gems option is pretty much useless, because of two reasons:

1. I believe you bank less than what you currently have.
2. You’re losing out on the extra gems on that same floor, which is usually a rich amount.

The only real difference is if you get stuck in one of those lone-ladder-up-the-middle doors, you can just bank gems and not try to drop back and get to the side.
Banking gems costs gems (it looks like 2K the first time, 5K the second time, but it might also be % based), and there are always a group of easy gems (blue at first, white as you reach floor 100+) so banking gems costs a lot, but gets you an easy floor, so it’s only really good for racking up floors.
If you don’t exit the tower, you lose your bank, too.

I just got the impossible, after getting $502,700. *-HINTS-* NEVER exert too much effort to get the trophies, you'll probably already have 50 by the time you escape with your $500,000. In other words, if you want the impossible, don't go for the hard. In the higher floors, say 60+ the developer placed these white gems in locations that either make you stuck in a location and can't get out and you just have to wait until you die, or in locations where you can get them only if you have a time power-up, a gem magnet power-up, or if you are willing to risk losing your hard-earned $250,000 for a gem that is worth $5,000. The game has an annoying glitch (posted it in the comments- twice) where if your character goes off-screen (not yet dead), you cannot move, jump, or climb ladders. You will be stuck in that spot and soon enough you'll get the message saying "A winner isn't you". I can tell because I've once used a time power-up in this situation and it didn't help. When you have $300,000 already, your main goal will be survival. The following would be the deadly places I've encountered while going for the $500,000- *-SURVIVAL-* Name (How I'd like to call these patterns): Pogo-punk Madness Floor: 60+ Difficulty (Out of ten): 10 Item used to survive: Death Skull, Hourglass, or Shield Survival: When you see this pattern, and you don't have any of the three items above, you'll know it's time to RUN AND JUMP! There will be 4 Pogo-punks and below them will be 1 curmbling block. After 1 second, the madness begins. You have to stay ahead of the Pogo-punks, there will be about 5 rows of crumbly blocks, and you have to keep jumping to survive. The Pogo-punks will keep jumping, until you reach one of the ladders above, and climb it, leaving the Pogo-punks behind. I have only ONCE made it past this one without any of those three items above, the other 2 I have killed the Pogo-punks, and I died more than 3 times in this location. Name: Ladder to the right Floor: 60+ (Most likely a few floors before or after Pogo-punk madness) Difficulty: 8 Items used to survive: Hourglass Survival: There will be four ladders, and a spring in the middle with a white gem. Beside the spring there are rows of spikes. In this one it will be easier to survive if you get the white gem. You will bounce off the spring, try to get a hold of the third ladder. Then proceed right to the fourth ladder and go up. The white gem and the item power-up at the left is a deadly time-waster - not worth risking it. Name: Survival to white gem Floor: 5+ Difficulty: LUCKY- 2 (0 If you're not going for the white gem) Normal- 5 (2 If you're not going for the white gem)= Items used to survive: Death Skull, Houglass, or Gem magnet Survival: There will be 2 rows filled with green gems, this is a time waster. The real reward is above. There will be a Pogo-punk (None if you're LUCKY) that will start bouncing on a row of crumbly jump-through blocks, and below will be some green gems in a closed location below. (A white gem at the very right, an item at the very left) This will be easy provided you do not get the white gem or the item, as you would be wasting time and the Pogo-punk will keep on breaking the blocks in the row of crumbly blocks. If you will try to get the white gem, (Or item) most of the blocks will be destroyed by then. But time it right and you will survive. Name: Pink Corridor Floor: 2+ Difficulty: 2 Items used to survive: Death Skull, Hourglass, or Shield Survival: Nothing, really. Just keep going up and avoid those pink enemies with spikes on their heads. Don't bother with the gems, in total if you get all you'll probably just earn around $4000. I know I missed a lot, but then again- most of the places would just be "hard" to survive in because there are enemies. The Pogo-punk madness would not be madness had the Pogo-punks not existed in the first place. There's no use writing them all down. Finally- "ITEMS AND THEIR IMPORTANCE" How important and rewarding are stuff? I wrote these down, even though it might be obvious. Most Important *WHITE GEM* *ITEM BAG* Hourglass Skull Gem Magnet Shield (insert undeniably huge gap here) *TROPHY* *BLUE GEM* *GREEN GEM* Least Important That was so long.
