From opening the boxes you find a hammer and 11 wood.

What do you do?

use the hammer on the crates to get nails and more wood. Then use it to make a bridge.

You break the boxes and find nails. However, you can not pick them up since you have not got enough storage space. (Leveling up will increase storage)

What do you do?

Farm for XP.

drop some wood and then pick up the nails
then start building the bridge
and keep on adding wood and nails to your invertory

This cannot be done as there the items need to be combined to create another object. It is not clear I know but there is an area south of this one which doesn’t have anything blocking it up, i’m just saying.
