I probably should post this on the “choose my next game” thread instead. Oh well, anything to save this thread from constant pointless arguing.

So I posted this Nexus idea. If you haven’t read it, please give it a look. I need help on one of the little details in the setting.

So I have four elements, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Each element has a physical form, the form it most frequently manifests in the Material Plane as, and a pure energy form. The forms can be transformed into each other via magic. They are as follows:
Fire – Physical form is actual flames and combustion; pure energy form is heat.
Water – Physical form is water in its various states; pure energy form is coldness.
Earth – Physical form is rocks and minerals; pure energy form is a corrosive energy.
Air – Physical form is gas in the atmosphere; pure energy form is electricity.

Now, non-opposing elements can be combined with each other. An imperfect combination simply results in the mixture of the physical forms of the elements, while a perfect combination produces something new.
Fire + Air = Imperfect mixture is burning gas; perfect combination is charged plasma beams, a.k.a. Hollywood laser. It has the heat of Fire and electric charge of Air.
Fire + Earth = Imperfect mixture is magma; perfect combination is volatile explosive energy. It has the heat of Fire and chemistry of Earth.
Water + Earth = Imperfect mixture is mud; perfect combination is poisonous energy glue. It has the slowing/freezing of Water and chemistry of Earth.

Now, I have a problem with Water + Air. The imperfect mixture is easy enough, just a mist. But what about the perfect combination? It’s rather difficult to combine electricity and coldness. I’m out of ideas, so now I’m asking for help. The combination should be something related to both Water and Air, but something neither element can really do alone. And it should not be related to any other element; heat caused by lightning is thus out of the question.

This doesn’t give me any ideas either, since laser is already Fire + Air.

I noticed, I just have no idea how to solve your problem.

If the pure form of Fire is heat and the pure form of Water is coldness, then there isn’t really much I can think of – to achieve coldness, you’d have to remove heat, to manipulate heat out of somewhere, you’d need Fire control, thus there isn’t really anything I could make out of Water because it’d be making things out of Fire.
