Yes, mods and admins can lock/unlock threads regardless.

It happened here before (notice how the first poster’s username isn’t in the light gray color). Locked and unlocked here.

New people (rather not call them so rudely) usually tend to just engage into a thread based purely on the title, or after reading only the first and the last post made by the OP (if it its a game, if its like mfgft or gt, tey don’t even read teh first and last posts) and are just liek “lol wtf do i do know??
