-Chile pays the ALAN tax. (-$100B)
-Chile pays reparations to the Free State. (-$250B)
-Chile uses its veterans of the intervention in Russia and the riots in Santiago to specially train newer recruits in the arts of guerilla warfare, urban warfare, and especially combating guerilla warfare. Combined with some funding, this will ensure that Chilean troops will perform more effectively from now on. (-$400B, Power Increase)
-Chile begins constructing transportation infrastructure in its more rural and inaccessible areas, allowing companies to use the now-opened land to check for valuable resources. This also has the upside of assisting the crackdown on drugs being sponsored by ALAN; illegal growers are often found in these areas, and simply improving the speed of the authorities helps quite a bit too. The plan is good, but it lacks the funding to do all that much. (-$400B)

-A corrupt Brazilian official clandestinely suppresses the crackdown in his province, allowing him to profit off the drug trade which he is deeply involved him. He fears being ratted out, however, and embezzles the Brazilian treasury and escapes to a dock in Guyana, where he is cornered by ALAN officials. They attempt to get him out with 36 hours of sieging, and when they give up and launch a full frontal assault he detonates explosives he had rigged to the dock’s offices in which he was hiding out, destroying him, the money, and the agents attempting to apprehend him. -Even though the response was swift, the French invasion damaged the morale of the people of Britain and Australia’s stability can no longer be considered Crimeless.
-A group of French black ops specialists operating on the Welsh coastline raid an Australian naval base. They get in and out with superior skill and destroy several ships, costing the Australians billions in ship losses and several soldiers who were killed in the fighting. All but two of the French operatives got out alive. The incident is a drop in the pond for the Australian treasury, but it wounds the morale of the Australian military, and some say it can no longer be considered Invincible after being bested by a couple Frenchies with some night-vision goggles. What was particularly interesting about this update to me was how short it was to do. It took 30 minutes to write, five minutes to post (this involves deleting and sending secret actions as well, it’s not just a simple copy paste job) and it’ll likely take me another three minutes to post the new map (with only one change!) and create the link to the update.

For comparison, an average update takes an hour and a half to write. In the early days with more people and more activity, it was two hours or more. On some occasions, most recently the outbreak of the Russian Civil War, updates have taken more than three hours to produce.

In less than an hour an evacuation notice is posted, but the damage is done; over two thousand people were killed and the port was utterly ruined. The damage caused will cost around $500 billion to clean up, and the loss of Brazil’s principal port hurts its economy. You may have noticed the lack of activated nations this quarter. This is for two reasons.

One, I can’t really think of any good plots for activated nations. So, writer’s block.
Two, things are moving in a direction which might call for NPC intervention, so it might be good to save them for later anyway.
