The year is 2013. Again. Mutants don’t exist yet, and the downfall of Ather City never happened. But this world is not the world you once knew.

Long ago, in a dying world, the greatest heroes of two worlds set out to find peace away from their home. But the Scribe was betrayed by the Knight, and the two fought almost to the end. Their battle caused the energies of Time and Space to collide, ripping the dying world apart at the seams, but bringing a new world into existence in the process. In the end, the Scribe was victorious, and as victor claimed his place as ruler of this new world.

The Scribe shaped the world as it is now. Magic, the power to shape the world as one sees fit, never died out as it had in the old world. The heroes of the old world have passed into legend in this one, designed by the Scribe to inspire the next generation of heroes. Perhaps you could be one of them. Who are you, anyway?

Name: Connor Gray
Age: 18
Appearance: Average height, weak, skinny build, brown hair, green eyes with specks of yellow, wears jeans and a hoodie constantly

Spell of Choice: Calm
Bio: Connor’s life has never been exciting enough. Not for him, anyway. His brother has a reputation among their friends for being the best Normal fighter in town. Not Connor though. He was born a Mage, and he got stuck with the Empathic school. No combat potential whatsoever, so he’s been responsible for breaking up Clayton’s fights since they were kids, a job that he resents greatly. Otherwise, he’s an intelligent kid, if a bit lazy at times. He is powerless to resist the lure of chocolate, and is never seen without the dragon pendant he wears around his neck.

Age: 19

Apperance: wears a blue jacket over a plain blue shirt, and jeans, a little taller and slim than average, and has blue hair to rival his red eyes.

Magic school: Summon

Spell of choice: Summon phoenix (well his preference is any animal that has to do with fire.)

Bio: Viny, led a normal life without many milestones to mark in his life. He was never a good fighter but was born a Mage unlike most of his peers. He went to the summoner’s magic school and absolutely loved magic, studying it all of the time, sacrificing social interaction. He isn’t too smart outside of magic though and is quite easy to fool.

…well, the new sign-ups were unexpected. Also, it should be Spells of Choice, not just one spell. Considering that we now have whole schools of magic to access, and not just the one magical ability.

Name: Seth Rose
Age: 34
Appearance: Caucasian, male, lean and fairly strong body build, 186 cm tall, straight silvery-white hair going down to the top of his abdomen, almost cyan eyes. Prefers black leather for his clothes, usually wearing jeans, boots, gloves, and a longcoat styled in such a manner as to reveal the centre of his chest through a gap covered by an X of sorts. All in black leather, of course. Maybe he has a weapon stashed somewhere on him, too.
Magic School: Summon
Spell of Choice: Flash-port – Basic teleport, plus a flash of light at either end to temporarily blind potential foes.
Bio: Being a mage from a long line of other mages, Seth’s magical abilities are somewhat potent, and are further bolstered by an intensive training regime undertaken during a stint as a soldier in an army. Of course, he being a Summoner rather than, say, an Elemental, he decided that, despite having the will to kill people, he didn’t really have the means to such an extent, and left. Without telling anyone, of course. Which put him in good standings for being chased across a large area of the planet for desertion, such a chase having taken up most of the past decade or so by this point. Yeah… smart.

Name: Analisse McCoy
Age: 17
Appearance: Medium height, well-toned. Her eyes are a deep green, and her hair is dyed jet black, cut right above her shoulders. Most comfortable wearing her school uniform: a red plaid skirt, white long-sleeve shirt, and black tie.
Lucky Item: Crescent-shaped pendant necklace
Bio: Analisse is the oldest of two children born into a family of wealth. Unlike her sister, she wasn’t born a mage, and is jealous of her younger sibling for having such ability. Analisse is turning 18 soon, and she’s impatiently waiting on that day so she can move out and start her own life with Chase, her ridiculously strong boyfriend. Although she’s normal, Chase picked her because of her quirkiness, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Name: Lucretius “Luke” Fausten.

Age: 18.

Appearance: Luke has somewhat paler than normal skin, unnatural shoulder-length silver hair, and steely gray eyes. He is about 180 cm tall and has a toned, muscular build. He often wears a black T-shirt with a giant white cross printed on the front and three pairs of white angelic wings printed on the back, as well as dark gray jeans and white sneakers. He wears a silver chain and cross pendant around his neck, not because he is religious but simply because he likes it.

Magic School: Mental.

Spells of Choice: These are Luke’s most frequently used spells, listed in the order of decreasing proficiency.
The World’s Will – Luke materializes his thoughts as a bright white light that can be manipulated by his mind. This light damages all he perceives as evil and heals all he perceives as good. Luke’s moral code is rather black and white, and he almost always perceives himself as good. When touched by this light, those Luke deems evil but redeemable will only suffer pain, while those he believes to be truly irredeemable will burn and rot. When hit by this spell, only the body part that makes contact with the light is affected.
Telekinesis – Luke forms constructs of solid force, like the force fields of the Invisible Woman in Fantastic Four. They can be made into various simple shapes, but nothing complicated like machinery or firearms. Their textures and tensile strengths can be altered somewhat. These objects are created from the surface of Luke’s body, and his control over them weakens over increased distances. The solid force usually appears as transparent ripples and distortions in the air, but becomes solid glowing white when Luke pumps more magical power into it.
Telepathy: Luke can manipulate minds. This can be done with great ease on his own mind, allowing him to increase his mental functions and capacities to some extents, as well as restore and prevent his mind from being influenced by others. He can reach out to other minds via probes of invisible psionic energy, which allows wordless communication and sharing of information. Offensively, Luke can do little more than reading an enemy’s thoughts and causing brief bursts of mental pain and confusion. Theoretically he is capable of controlling and modifying the minds of other people, but at the moment Luke cannot do it effectively at all. Any mind can attempt to resist telepathy, decreasing the spell’s effects by an amount proportional to the mind’s willpower and mental fortitude.

Bio: Luke is an orphan, adopted and taught by an eccentric old mage due to his great magical potential. The mage is a wee bit insane and likes to ramble about vaguely religious-sounding things like “the World’s Will” and such. Luke himself has always been intelligent enough to realize that it’s mostly gibberish, but he does adopt some aspects of his surrogate father’s philosophy because he thinks it’s useful. His adoptive father is also rather paranoid, and trains Luke in various aspects of martial arts and physical combat, so that he’ll have an easier time surviving a potential apocalypse. Aside from that, his childhood is mostly normal. He goes to a normal school, and is on friendly terms with mostly everyone but not really having any best friends.

Name: Michelle Proctor
Age: 28
Appearance: Quick, lithe build, blonde hair like her whole family have had for generations. Hair is usually long but tied back to keep it out of the way, when it’s not then it’s feathered and shorter than usual, shoulder length. She is quite pale and green eyed like many of her line. For practical reasons, she usually wears flight goggles over her head in case she needs to cover her eyes, and for practical reasons she wears a brown coat, on which the collar comes just up to the nose, she also wears boots and black and dark grey striped breeches. She doesn’t often like to wear women’s fasion but when she does it’s only things she can move better in, because coats don’t usually fill that role well. Activewear is a usual choice when she isn’t travelling.
Lucky Item: A silver-inlaid revolver.
Bio: Michelle has always liked gymnastics and martial arts as she has a quick light body, this love of physical activity increased her arm/leg strength even though she is still quite light. She did alot of hunting on thier family’s land in france and has learned to use her once purely decorative revolver. Although her family had land, this did not neccessarily mean that there was wealth. Thier land was on an old Sawmill and logging camp, and most of the trees in thier land are quite new. The nearby town was not very active, meaning Michelle was a little cut off in a social sense when she was younger.

Name: Arcelia Bluespark
Age: 22
Appearance: Well, what can I say… Arcelia has red (of the orangish, close to blonde kind) hair of varying length. The length is really varying – it’s like someone divided it into fifty strands, then cut each to a different length. Her complexion is somewhat darker than that of an average person. She has bright (in most senses) green eyes, and a face to match that cheerfulness. As her usual attire, Arcelia dons a light blue dress with a leather apron over it. The dress has zigzaggy patterns on it. She also has a matching, pointy, wide-brimmed hat.
Magic School: Augmentative
Spell of Choice: Craft – produces an item or an item component using some complicated mechanics of properties and whatnot – basically, by extracting the properties of whatever the spell targets
Bio: Arcelia was born in a sizable family, being the second child out of five. She didn’t do too well at school – it could have been due to her magic abilities, but it could also have been because she found the entire math thing tiresome. She was quite enthusiastic towards theory, but it wasn’t enough. Barely ending high school, Arcelia found herself without any means to pursue higher education – so she decided she could do without it, and became somewhat of an artist. Studying up on her magic, she started making various one-of-a-kind things, and people bought them. After some time, she started making them functional – and as soon as she started making things that did what electronics couldn’t, she felt she found her niche in the market.
Lacking the urge to become a boring executive, she did not go ahead and start a huge company by hiring like-abilitied people to work for her – instead, she was – and still is – content to make her pieces. They earn a living, and she can do whatever she wants.

Name: Richard Darkoz
Age: 16
Appearance: Below average size, with scruffy black hair and cold blue eyes. He walks with a slouch, and has a few small scars, one being on his right cheek. He wears a grey hoodie and blue, tattered jeans. Quite thin, but very agile and quick. He knows a little bit of parkour, but don’t expect him to be running across rooftops.
Lucky Item: A Phillips screwdriver that, due to Magic, has been modified to pick locks. He got it from his father.
Bio: His mother and father were thieves. They were one of the best, but they didn’t have much money due to dropping out from school and not getting jobs. He, however, is quite intelligent, but the life of a thief was just far too enticing to pass up. He became one at the age of 13, and had a few close shaves (hence the scars), but he had a a natural gift for the job, and immediately dropped out form school to concentrate on his… ‘career’. He steals everything- money, food, anything valuable, car keys and their respective cars- and is very experienced in the, ahem, ‘trade’.

Age: 23
Appearance: Jason is 5’5 with black hair and gold eyes. He walks straight and tall. He has a black beard and black hair with a red streak through the middle. He is a fast sprinter and he does parkour and sometimes runs from buildings.
Lucky Item: A silver necklace that gives him extra speed and agility. It can only be used when he needs to run.
Bio: Jason was born to a family who were muggers. His father taught him the ways of mugging and he learned a few tricks. He stole a few gold watches and some money from a few pockets and wallets. He was arrested one day and put into prison for 3 years. He got out in 2013 and is on his first day out.

Name: Kyle Yandrian
Age: 25
Appearance: A lean young man with shaggy black hair, gray eyes, and caramel complexion. He is fond of baggy pants, loose t-shirts with smart-ass remarks on them, and sneakers. A switchblade hides in a notch in his belt, his only real method of defense against a physical threat.
Magic School: Elemental
Spell of Choice: Shadow Walk – Using his ability to manipulate his body composition Kyle can travel long-distances so long as there are shadows he can use.
Bio: Born the eldest of identical triplets into somewhat of a broken home, Kyle spent more time being abused in his home than not. Never one to attempt open confrontation, and being of mage blood, he quickly developed the only spell he seemed capable of, the Shadow Walk, and made himself scarce, letting his submissive mother and unhinged father dole out affection to his other siblings in peace. As a result he would spend hours, even days, wandering the streets of his city, learning whatever he could about living independently. Now 25, Kyle is a moody and fastidious man, slow to make friends and even less likely to keep them for any extended period of time. Unbeknowst to him, his much-better trained brothers, wielders of fire and ice, have taken it upon themselves to collect their ‘unruly and irresponsible’ sibling and return him to his rightful place. Whether they will succeed or not remains to be seen.

Name: Evelyn “Eve” Walker.

Age: 18.

Appearance: Eve has fair skin, long wavy black hair, and deep blue eyes. She is 170 cm tall with a thin but graceful build. She wears simple, modest, dark-colored clothing, most often a black dress, or a black blouse and skirt.

Magic School: Elemental.

Spells of Choice: These are Eve’s most frequently used spells, listed in the order of decreasing proficiency.
Aqua Regina – Eve can transform parts of her body into glowing blue water and back; this includes the dark-colored outfit she usually wears, but not any new clothes or other items she carries. Water composing her body can be controlled with great precision. While in water form, Eve is immune to physical force, cold, and heat, unless the heat is enough to break down hydrogen-oxygen bonds in water molecules. However, she can still be damaged by magic, as well as chemical changes to the water making up her body. A full transformation lasts five minutes at the moment, while partial transformations last longer.
Elemental Blast – Eve can throw basic offensive blasts of magical energy, aligned to one of the elements of Water, Fire, Earth, Air, or Lightning. These blasts can be shaped into bolts, balls, beams, or waves, and Eve has some degrees of mental control over them. Regardless of element, this spell takes on a distinctive blue hue. Note that this spell conjures things from Eve’s raw mana, and dissipates once she releases her hold on the spell; it does not manipulate pre-existing elements. With the exception of Water, Eve can do little else than casting basic attack spells for each element, as a result of not specializing in any of them.
Hydrophagy – By reaching out with her magic and saturating normal, pre-existing water with it, Eve can transform pre-existing water into water conjured by her magic. This has several uses. One, she can essentially manipulate pre-existing water as though it is conjured by her Elemental Blast spell. Two, by combining this with her Aqua Regina spell, Eve can absorb pre-existing water to heal herself. Three, by transforming pre-existing water into conjured water, then causing the conjured water to dissipate into raw mana, Eve can essentially cause water to disappear, and desiccate things.

Bio: Eve is the single daughter of an ancient rich family. Having exhibited remarkable magical potential at a young age, Eve was tutored by prominent mages then sent to a prestigious school of magic. Her spell that transforms her body into water, ability to use all four cardinal elements, plus her calm and elegant persona earned her great popularity and renown among her fellow students. Due to the distinctive blue hue that all of her elemental spells have, she is nicknamed the Sapphire Princess. However, admiration is not the same thing as friendship, and she secretly feels quite lonely at the top.

I haven’t joined the previous two games of this, but seeing as they were popular, I wish to join this one.

The information in this thread was not detailed enough for me, so I have a few questions:

What kind of Role-Play is this? Do we wait for Spirit to post what happens from each action, or do we do it ourselves but try to stay realistic? Do we create things such as enemies, areas, treasures and challenges for ourselves, or does Spirit do it?

Does this game have a strict plot, or does it have a freestyle plot, so I can choose to wherever and do whatever, when occasionally circumstances cause me to merge back with the plot? Will I be able to, for example, go to a city and start flirting with the local barwomen?

Also, any important plot from previous games not mentioned in the introductory post in this thread?

I apologize for the many questions, but it is difficult for me to function in a RP without them.
